What's the difference between DDR3 memory and GDDR5 memory? - TechSpot Forums

•Physically, a GDDR5 controller/IC doubles the I/O of DDR3 - With DDR, I/O handles an input (written to memory), or output (read from memory) but not both on the same cycle. GDDR handles input and output on the same cycle.

    this post is confusing me.

at first ang ga post niingon nga kusog and 1gb ddr5. then karon miingon nasad nga kusog ang 4gb ddr3.

    please post your ideas clearly.

mao ganing nangutana ko diri para ma clarify, libog libogon na noon ta sa uban nga mo post diri.

kana 4GB mas nindot na actually if u have bigger screen and at higher resolution because of the memory capacity

unsa man kadako ur monitor, pila man ang resolution?

    if 19" na 1440 x 900 or 22" 1600 x 1050, i suggest u get the 1GB ddr5

if LED na ur monitor na 24" @ 1080p

have the 4GB DDR3 to compensate juice requirement to display higher resolution

roughly thesame ra na sila ur frame rates inig duwa

    but if gamay ra difference

i suggest u get the GT640 or HD7770, nothing less!

Mura man gud dili ka motuo bai. Lopsided majority na gani niingon nga mas kusog and 1gb ddr5, nangita pa kag daghan proof. Mura man gud you are already sold that the 4gb is faster and you are only looking for people to side with you on your choice..

    Lets put it this way:
GPU Instructions = Passengers (say around 3-4 normally)
4gb ddr3 = Locomotive Train (daghan unta pwede musakay pero 4 lang diay ang pasahero)
1gb ddr5 = BMW M5 on the German Autobahn (5 ra ang pwede musakay pero 4 ra man ang pasahero)

You wont need 4gb of vram for gpus with speeds the likes of GT630, because, by sense, any application that will require 2gb or more will choke the cores/shaders processor way before it will with the vram.

    @ TS,

as what they said, 4GB installed on GT630 is plainly marketing strategy... what matters most on a GPU's graphical performance is the engine itself as well as the VRAM technology being utilized (in todays standard, DDR5 is the fastest VRAM to date)... all the rest like the board's circuitry will follow...

TS ayaw kaau kalibog, much better ang DDR5 compared sa DDR3
It depends mostly on the resolution you are running, dili man nah nimo magamit ang imong 2gb if ang imong resolution is less than 1920 X 1080...if your'e running your PC with 1 display at resolutions less than 1080p then much better to go with the DDR5

but if your running triple screen or dual screen setups, need nimo ang extra nga VRAM...
think of it this way: if you have 1 screen at 1920 X 1080 , your only going to use 1gb VRAM max! , with 2 screens your going to need 2 gb, with 3 screens then 3 GB..
Ibalewala nah ang Video memory and go with the faster bandwidth DDR5..

they probably have 2 models of the same card to cater to customers who are gaming(DDR 5) or to those who need the extra monitors(DDR3)

    i'm not sold to 4gb ddr3.

all i want is a clear explanation like what you have posted now which i quoted.
that's why i'm asking you to elaborate your statement in your previous post kay wa man gud nako ma gets ang validity sa statement.

anyways, i'm now clarified tungod sa daghang mihatag sa inyong mga bulawanong explinasyon.

    salamat
