Assemble lang bro para maka pili ka og nindut na parts atleast entry level parts, para di napud ka mag sige og upgrade, go for shimano deore parts or atleast alivio. for me mas prefer ko og custom built bike than built ones. di ka magmahay sa custom built kay ikaw man mismo ang nagpili sa parts nga imo gi taud, usually 15k to 20k would be a decent bike na.

If seryoso na gyud ka to be on the saddle and join the ride, there are three important aspects you need to consider for a start up.

    1. On-road or Off-road - Road bike or MTB. It makes a big difference having the right bike for the track you want to take.

    2. Frame - Invest on a quality frame that fits you. Frames have sizes (S/M/L/XL) so you have to have the correct size. Incorrect frame size will be uncomfortable on long rides. This will also be the last component that you would replace so invest on a frame that will be cost-effective to your budget - durability, weight, etc. The rest like drivetrain, brakes, wheels, etc. are consumables and expect that you would be replacing these in time. Selections of these will more be based on the budget you plan to allocate.

    3. Safety Gear - At least a decent helmet. Cheap is the first choice but trust me, you wont entrust your head to some cheap helmet that you are not sure would be able to protect your head during hard impact.

That is the hassle of having to assemble the bike. You would not know which parts to put in. It will come out costly in the end. You would also have to consider which type of brake you will prefer: disc-type or v-type. The bike frame for v-type brakes may not fit those with disc-type brakes. So I suggest that you save yourself the headache. It is better to buy a complete set.

TS huna2x sa if serious gyud ka sa biking or dili. pero para nku kung medyo dli clear if magdugay ka kay nadala lang ka sa uso try 2nd hand or built bikes. ang cons lng kay if serious ka ma pugos gyud kay upgrade kay uso man sad na. pero kung serious ka aw pag assemble. mas mahal pero dli sad ka mka upgrade dayun.

Pero kip in mind TS "its not the pana but he indian"

Anyone knows what's a good MTB set up for me? and also how much it would cost?

if naa sad mo ma recommend na Bike Shops who sells cheap quality bike parts either surplus or brand new that would be great.

    Thanks.

I started mtb way back 2002 and at that time wala man kaayo ko maka dungog ana nga term "entry level". Karon rapud ko naka dungog ana since ni balik ko ron og bike. I think ila pasabot anang "entry level category" kanang mga barato nga setup sa bike. Kay as far as I know ang shimano deore man ang mahal nga groupset sa mtb and mostly mao nay gigamit sa mga professional mtbker's like the RP-team.

Kung assembled daan nga mtb imong paliton pili a lang na ang naay branded nga hubs. Mao gyud nay permi nako ma dung gan nga advice sa mga veteran bikers. Then mag next upgrade nimo is ang headset ug bottom bracket. Mao man gud ni ang mga crucial parts nga dali mu surrender. Specially kanang bottom bracket nga dili sealed Oh. sus laina gyud paminawon neg sikad nimo mag laguto.
