Tony Jaa is an acrobat, he only studied muay thai for a couple of years. He studied the more traditional way of Muay Thai with the use of jumping elbows to the head and stuff, can't use that stuff in real life because it's too hard to pull off, as opposed to the more practical competition muay thai training which is what the real fighters use.

hehe, i do not believe YawYan came from arnis.... from simple observation, you can see that it is heavily based on muay thai, could it be that they just say its based on arnis just to make a point that its an all original filipino based system?

to know more about yawyan youll have to ask ed168 about it kay yawyan sya, but from my perspective the yawyan fighting system is not exclusive to the stand-up style ex. kicks,punches, elbows, knees as sir ekin told me yawyan system of fighting is very diverse with this in mind yawyan is a complete set of system, they have the hand to hand style, the arnis techniques, the knife techniques etc., ive many yawyan buds diha sa cebu, and theyre pretty strong standing up, and also theyve transitioned into MMA very much effectively pildi man gani tanan amo contingent diri sa cdo the last time we fought there, also daghan nga yawyan fighters who are now in the phil. muay thai team, as fighters, coach and trainers, so more or less yawyan can pretty much adapt, filipinos are the master of improvisation jeepney is something that the americans gave us that we turned into the PUJ, share lang nko merry x-mas mga bro,
