Are we humans Good or Evil by nature?

we we're born an empty plate..........filled as we grow up..........

it's the environment around us that influences/manipulates behavior and thinking......

this is a very mechanical perspective towards human being. this kind of thinking can trace its roots to the nature-nurture theory.. im not saying this is wrong.. in some point this is correct..

but the humanist, which stand i took the same, is saying that human being by nature are good and they have the complete faculty of capacities which enables them to direct their own.. though, the not so good part here is that, the goodness humanist is talking about is not bounded to any norm.. in its simplest term, human goodness, as iv mentioned above, is only guided by its instinct to survive..

if you don't feed a baby, he/she will die....the negative...
if you do, he/she will grow up....the positive...
***the act alone by the parent of the child is already a "good" or bad" input towards the child....

Lets say, a hungry man stole a food. is he bad or good? by the definition above, he is just following his innate nature, then he is still good.

if you're better bred by your parents, stealing is not an option....you can always ask.......

we are simply like a blank paper,
what is written in will be the basis of what our actions would likely be
the way we are brought up will determine our personality
but not entirely

other factors affecting include:
- genes
- environment
- adaptation

etc


so there is really no evil or good
