If Good was a positive number and Bad was a negative number.... we are born at Zero.

Human beings by nature is good. The basic goodness of human being is not bounded to morality but to its primitive instinctual need which is to survive.

Lets say, a hungry man stole a food. is he bad or good? by the definition above, he is just following his innate nature, then he is still good.

The presumption, sans all the interference, human being will develop his very goodness to its full potential.

5 thousand years since people started recording history, and the cycle continues in war, rebuilding and war.

Animals pre programmed to kill each other in an endless loop, the only question is when and how.

Another example:

Robin Hood is someone that leads a gang of 'merry men' and steals from the rich and gives to the poor. Robin Hood is supposedly good, though you might also consider him bad because he DOES steal, even if from the bad evil rich people.

I guess it depends on what part or side of the story we're talking about.
