i agree, anyway the ccci web awards are at the end of this month pa.
by the way, about the name, to differentiate from the ccci awards, it could be called: cebby awards
good name CEBBY. poldopunk keep us posted. you organize initally the activity.

we recently joined the 5th cebu web awards ... samot ka way klaro karon.. walay update ang ilang website. kung kinsa ang finalist. ? trying calling cebu chamber of commerce no one answers. huh even send an email no reply! basin lutong makaw na pud!
really!? can i ask, where and how? obviously, it cannot have been via the website, so where did you find the form - did you just go to the ccci? and how much did you have to pay? sorry to be very chismoso, but that was actually the original intent of this thread, to try and find out details about the 5th cwa.Originally Posted by HybernaTe

Hi Guys! We've attended the awarding of the 5th Cebu Web Awards this afternoon (3pm) in Waterfront, Lahug. Generally, I'm quite disappointed by the whole event (siguro because I expected too much).
The organizers were not prepared. Duh! We've waited for almost an hour for the event to start (okay, I should expect the "Filipino time" typical for us but having some foreign personnels waiting for the event would give a bad impression, right?).
As for the judges, Joeyx2000 was right, they were not from the web industry.
But of course, naa man pod good point kay this time, naa na sila slideshow kung kinsa ang mga winners compared to what Greyfox had mentioned about his tragic time last year in SM nga wala jud. Sayang lang kay naa ra sa lobby giheld ang event... mura mig nagguot nga sardinas. Hehehe.
@hybernate: In my case, ni reply man daun sila sa akong inquiries when we submitted our website for the competition. Maybe pod siguro kay aside from emailing them, I tried to call the person by phone.Taktak akong P250 sa registration.
I hope next time, masprepared unta ang organizers and they would put more heart into it (dili kaya kulang ang budget mao nga murag gidaginot?) para murag credible and prestigious pod ang event. After all, murag kani pa baya "siguro" ang "only" web awards locally for cebu web designers, diba?
Anyway, murag makita man to sa Cebu Channel 28 kay sila man ang nagcover sa awarding.
Congrats to the winners! Hope next time daghan pa ang moapil para bibo!
Just my two cents.
P.s.
I used this website to be updated with the web awards registration ang criteria:
