    The Manila Baywalk
By Antonio M. Ajero and Rene B. Lumawag

IF YOU'RE in Manila and needs a nice, inexpensive place to while away a late afternoon or an early evening and really enjoy it, try The Baywalk.

The Baywalk is actually the promenade along Roxas Boulevard by the Manila Bay, which had been avoided by people for decades for being a blight where bag snatchers, pickpockets, and cheap prostitutes abound--a virtual muggers' paradise, according to columnist Conrado de Quiros

Now for Manila visitors from the provinces who don't have the means to splurge in the giant malls, classy resto bars and posh cafe's of Ortigas, Glorietta, Greenbelt and Rockwell in Makati, and the Eastwood in Libis, Baywalk is the best place to be. You get entertained and fed to your hearts' content at only 20 to 30 percent of the usual prices.

Kung gusto nila himuon special tourism zone ang colon mas maau pud unta kung wad-on sad nila ang mga snatchers ug uban pang bad elements dinhang lugara. Its useless to make the place favorable for tourist if ang lugar dili man pud safe. ad2 nalgn kos sm or ayala maybe. hehehehehe. good pm mga bro.

regarding the concerns of businessmen, i believe the plan will give their businesses an edge or at least a distinctive advantage. how many of us cebuanos prefer colon to cebu business park? or small malls to bigger malls? if colon will become a special tourism zone then that will be the businesses' edge over the newer and bigger malls. i personally would like to get that historic feel of colon...yes i would go there for that reason. the idea will still bring traffic (people) to the area. business establishments will benefit in a new, hopefully, better way.

bitaw i think edge na sa mga naay lugar ngara pero unahon jud unta ang security bisan butangan ba ron ug armed authorities every pila ka meter 24 hours a day and ipa hayag ang lugar pero asa kaha na nila e re-route ang mga jeep na ho-ut naman kaayo nang pikas road parallel niya , sa highway kanang sa LTO dapit as well as sa pikas gamay sad katong sa carbon dapit

di man tingali because for tourism, tourist rapud, atleast if himoon man sya park or e close for vehicle, nindot na sya anhaan, nya ma limpyo, advantage pud for cebuanos bah pero i doubt na madayon na kay daghan kaayo street naka connect sa iya then taas tawn kaau ang colon

besides affecting major routes in downtown cebu area particularly colon, one issue that concerns colon is the preservation of its historical landmarks.. i agree with Ms. Beau.. if it should be changed into a tourism hub, focusing on growing its businesses would be of distinct advantage.. the government should dig deeply into this..

    they don't wanna screw up..
