well, i dont think it will reach that point... oh well... dunno
it's just like saying let's boycott nature's spring water.
there are a lot of alternatives but there are superior brands and it so happen that Petron is one of the big 3 of all oil companies in the Philippines and is the most poltically influential one compared to Shell or Caltex.
This just goes to show how people can be misled by certain figures.
The recent oil spill was the result of a contractor's blunder. True it was Petron's oil but does that really matter?
If that were the case then start blaming Glock, Colt, H&K etc for the countless deaths they've "caused'.
Blame the farmers for the food poisoning you got after eating rice you left 2 days in your rice cooker.
Blame your teacher for flunking you because you weren't studying.
The bottom line is you can't pin it on Petron this time because the burder of responsibility has been passed on to the contractors. Had it been a spill during the actual transfer of the oil to the oil tanker then that would've been a different story.
It was actually pretty decent of Petron to reallocate funds to help clean up the mess that their contractor should've absorbed.
Oh and about the boycotting for Cebu? If you plan to do so then your only choice left would be Caltex because Shell Cebu doesn't have their own depot and they buy their products from Petron (here in Cebu). FYI.
this is the line --------- cross it. i dare you

so in THEIR perspective, that's where Petron's liability come into place because they are allegedly in connivance with the "transporter". this angle could also be a desperate attempt to blame Petron for they know the company can actually clean up this mess given the liability.
But hey, what's their (government) beef? they are currently making money in the current oil spill celan-up anyway. especially the agencies/individuals that is handling the contract of the salvage ship from Japan.
mao jd...somebody must be held accountable..but the priest should watch his mouth some people are rely fanatics wen it comes 2 religion...Originally Posted by Zerone_null
It isn't Petron's fault, its the carrier. They should be the one to take care of the mess.
i hate those political priests....
this will solve nothing. petron has already expressed their intention of shouldering some expenses. they are still continuing their efforts in extending help to the families affected by the oil spill....
