depends on the mobo. limited ka sa imoha OC.

    so lets say

    Asus P5Q Pro

    FSB (1600 / 1333 / 1066 / 800 MHz)

    Q9550 12 MB L2 2.83 GHz 1333 MHz FSB

As you can see this one was OC'ed to its "FSB: 1900" fsb:mem ratio 1:1

Kani "FSB: 1800" tapos fsb:mem ratio is 5:6

When i have time i'll make a comparison on a 4ghz OC with a different fsb ratio; ie 1:1 5:6 1:8 and show you SuperPI, IBT runs; you will see that the best is getting it to a 1:1 ratio.

Kung stock settings lang (di ko ka verify kung pila ang stock fsb ratio in terms of your cpu).
imho get the best proc you can pair with your mobo, kay kung pure raw power lang naa gihapon "ooomph"; Sa imoha pangutana unless imo gi-underclock ang proc then didto mu-"lag" but i am sure na dili lang "2.6ghz" na.

Taas na gani nang 2.6ghz na fsb

Ayaw pud i-confuse ang cpu speed with fsb speed. In a nutshell kung stock settings lang ka NO OC; just buy the best proc/mobo you can get.

    Note pics was googled.

@TS sorry sa OT; post more info para ma-advicean ka ug tarong.

@ts- sorry sa OT... galibog pud ko gud which mobo to buy... mao ni ask pud ko about sa specs...hehehe

go for AMD kung nahan ka barato... but INTEL ghapon ko.. why? durability..

but mas maayo kung kahibalo ka kung asa nimo gamiton.. then dha ka decide which is better for you..

    thanks guys for the help...

ang use ani is for gaming jd.. slight OC lng.. and d pd ni budget rig.. not planning on CF pd ky 5870 mn gamiton and later on ilisan ra 5970.. so asa mn jd mas mau ani? ok ra ba ni ang EVGA H55V?

my preference would be evga over gigabyte mobo.

yep get an i7 860 if not an i5 870

actually, if ur going the socket 1156 route, mo recommend ko sa i5-750. The problem i have with the i7-860 is that they have the same price as the 920s. If that were me, i would get the 920 nalang since dili ko bottlenecked to 16 bus lanes for graphics. The advantage lang for 1156 is mas barato ilang motherboards and of course RAM since dual channel ra. Also, if ur planning on getting 5970 make sure OC imo cpu. The 5970s are very powerful that the cpu becomes the bottleneck even for i7-920s if they are not OC to some extent.

@MoD: what makes you say dili durable ang AMDs bay?? As long as you have good heat sinks, fans, and clean power from your psu, your components should last long. Plus you dont need to upgrade to different sockets as much when new AMD cpus come out as opposed to Intel cpus.

pareho lang diay ug price ang 920 ug ang 860 yep 1366 na lang diay lol.

Yep tama si P0w3rM0v3 both camps are good... (haven't had a cpu died on me yet) my p1 is still alive and my athlon 350 do too (more than 10yrs na ang duha) 13yrs actually ang p1. Mobo and dali maguba though.

@erik: yep, the mobos are the ones that usually die off first especially if you dont have nice psu. For longer lasting mobos, pick those with japanese capacitors and that have good number of VRMs

@powermove - sagde-e nalang na si Mod, bay...kay mostly, as what I have learned sa akong past work sa dha pa ko sa pinas...murag na monopolize gyud ang mga tawo sa INtel...(katong dili mga adik sa pc ah, mga ordinaryong tawo lang)

I remember naa nag pa assemble nako ug pc...walay ni gawas sa iyang mouth kung d intel...then ako sya g introduce sa AMD..kay lagi nag budget sya..iya sulti..dba dali ra mo init ang AMD...dba dali ra ma guba ang AMD...hahaha ni katawa nalang ko..what i did..ako nalang g hatagan ug budget cpu celeron...kay aron dili na mag cge ug yaw2...

ala sila kabalo nga kung barato lang ang INtel proc...mostly tanan dha gyud mo palit (apil nako ana) ug e out of place nalang ang AMD...

    @TS - sorry sa O.T...

@Topic - Speaking sa mobos...kanang sa MSI nga DKA790 platinum ba...ask lang ko sa pinaka masters diri...mo support kaha ug Windsor nga proc...gamay raman gud naka list did2 nga compatible CPU nga windsor model...plan ko mag papalit s akong uncle sa H.K...naa daw did2...

    TIA.

@libido: That's really sad bay. In processors below the $200 segment, AMD simply dominates Intel. tungod ani, I firmly believe AMD should be the one na higher selling sa phils rather than intel. Instead, it's the other way around... maka kuha na gud ka ug mga quad cores sa AMD for 5k pesos. A little more gets you some cpus with L3 cache. sa Intel, dual core ra na. plus, daghan kaayo offerings and AMD with unlocked multipliers. Best of all, naa pay core unlockers with the ACC feature! Plus mamaligya pa ang amd ug mga OEM so mas barato! I would rather buy OEMs rather than retail cuz i dont use the garbage stock heat sinks anyway.

lol at the celeron. maguwang ra diay to gamay ug calculator bosing haha.

@the MSI board, sorry can't help you there idol. Not familiar with the mobo nor the chipset.
