i'm sorry guys, but i guess i'm just too much of a moto fanhaha! anyways, heres my lastÂ* pitch. there's this very promising new flash firmware that would give e398 vid recording w/o sacrificing t-flash support (i'm hooked on the moto modding scene, man gud). initial reviews say that the phone is still quadband and bass is considerably improved after flashing. if the previous flash was named v398 in reference to v3 razr firmware, the newest one would be called i398. coz it's supposed to come from e790, the supposedly iTunes phone. get it? and can someone please verify if this phone (e790) really does exist? it looks like e398 but only w/ a different and (i, admit) crappy color.Â*
so, i guess if the new frimware works, we can now truly start comparing the phones, right?
sometimes, in my love for my phone, i forget that in the philippines, not too many people now much about motos than SE's and Nokias.
but i wouldn't mind going for the k750i, i think it's the most complete phone so far.![]()
yeah i think i am going for e398 basing from this post...Originally Posted by larvs

(i think i'm turning this thread into my own blog na jud!)
it's been a week now since i got the newest frimware on my phone (ie9. had a few problems while flashing (almost died for one hour!) but fixed everything anyway. it's still a beta release and a lot of bugs anyone could live with considering the benefits.
new things the new firmware gave to my phone:
-iTunes java app which means i can have AAC fromat songs on my phone which could either save me space for my t-flash of better quality. though it currently has a 25 song limit w/c is vry annoying considering i just bought 128mb tflash from blitz. and mp3 player that came with the original firmware lost its playlist making option plus you have to set the date to 5/5/05 or else it itunes won't work. but it's helluva smarterr than iPOD though.
-video recording works! lol! w/c according to motorola themselves (when i emailed them) doesn't work kuno?
-shorter battery life, w/c i can tolerate for now considering the final release will be tonite! lol!
-airplane mode w/c prevents you form getting any signal. (i'm hoping when get to ride an airplane again and, god willing, the stewards understands enough that it is safe to put my phone in airplane mode so i can take videos of those lovelies during pre-flight demos!)
-GUI slowed down but not like the stock firmware it came with 7 months ago w/c again, i can tolerate for now.
-more bass to the external speakers! my fingers even cramped, one time, from holding on to the phone for 30 minutes while listening to hanggang kailan by orange and lemons, at the drive-in, couple of M.Y.M.P. songs etc!
-phone feels heavier? lol!
it was a real fun journey for me going through all three firmwares and still looking forward for more since the new v8 is coming and they're alreddy aping about it. i wonder what's next for this phone?
p.s. remember, when modding your phone, back everything up! it's more important than safe ***! lol!peace out!
got the latest version of i398 firmware.
nothing much changed from the old one.
-battery life improved
-playlist of the biult-in mp3 player still missing
-25 song limit of iTunes still present.
-better camera/video quality
-quadband still
-better connectivity though i have to use a single program to acces all the directory partitions of the phone now coz the new firmware split the a:/ into a:/ and c:/ w/c will take time learning.
-java apps can now be stored in t-flash.
basically, phone kinda back to the old times with all the disadvantages granting that its a new frimware and all. but theres always a way to overcome them, and i'm looking forward specifically to october for the release date of the phone then hopefully someone can rip the flash and leak it to the public! props to shoey and eyesonly_d for all these!
P.S. if you want a real time info (official or otherwise) about e398, pleasae visit http://e398essentials.wikispaces.org/

lisud man i.gamit ang e398 duno hw to use help...
e398 does take time getting used to baya pud, but now, can't seem to put it down after tinkering with it so much!

unsa.n man tanaw sa files sa memory card?
from the phone: menu-->settings-->phone status-->storage devices-->trans
from the pc: menu-->settings-->connectivity-->usb settings. set it to memory card, then hook it to your pc. i'm using winxp and it doesn't require any drivers just like a regular thumbdrive. go to my computer then voila!
bai larv, naa ko e398, unsaon pag convert to i398? naa ka mga softwares unsaon pag convert? ngayo unta ko kung ok lang nimo... thanks.....
