I really like this Iranian president. So adamant.
Teaming up with Venezuela, N. Korea and Cuba will
make the US reluctant to dip their fingers deep into Iran.
The US will need their allies so they can continue to bully
Iran, but Uncle Sam's sphere of influence doesn't really
include Russia and China. Add to that the deteriorating situation
    in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Iranian president takes on U.S., Israel at U.N.
    POSTED: 0222 GMT (1022 HKT), September 19, 2006

(CNN) -- With the U.N. Security Council meeting this week to consider whether to impose sanctions on Iran, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad took aim at the body Tuesday, saying the United States' permanent inclusion on the council undermines its effectiveness and credibility.

"As long as the council is unable to act on behalf of the entire international community in a transparent, just and democratic manner, it will neither be legitimate nor effective," the president said.

Speaking to the U.N. General Assembly, Ahmadinejad had particularly harsh words for what he called the council's inaction in Lebanon, Iraq and the Palestinian territories. (Watch Ahmadinejad complain about the U.S. and the UK -- 3:27)

"It does not matter if people are murdered in Palestine," he said of the conflicts in which Israel has been engaged in Gaza and the West Bank. "That apparently does not violate human rights."

He also criticized the "blanketed and unwarranted support" for Israel during conflicts in the Palestinian territories and Lebanon.

"For 33 long days, the Lebanese lived under the barrage of fire and bombs, and close to 1.5 million of them were displaced," Ahmadinejad said. "Meanwhile, some members of the Security Council practically chose a path that provided ample opportunity for the aggressor to achieve its objectives militarily."

The Security Council "was practically incapacitated by certain powers to even call for a cease-fire," he said.

Referring to Israel, Ahmadinejad said, "That regime has been a constant source of threat and insecurity in the Middle East region, waging war and spilling blood and impeding the progress of regional countries."

On Iraq, Ahmadinejad said the United States -- whom he called "the occupiers" -- is "incapable of establishing security," and scores die daily as a result.

"Where can the people of Iraq seek refuge, and from whom can the people of Iraq seek justice?" he asked. How can the Security Council act "when the occupiers themselves are permanent members of the council?" EXACTLY!!!!

He added, "Apparently, the Security Council can only be trusted to secure the rights and security of certain big powers."

He called on the General Assembly "to rescue the Security Council from its current state" by including envoys from Africa, the Middle East and the Non-Aligned Movement.

yep, i think i posted that in the 911 thread... its so transparent, but the thing is, the US is now in a bind, because Iran has even more oil than Iraq, and if they turn to the EURO, which they already have announced, coupled the ever rising debt of the US, EUROPE will become more of an economic superpower that the US... so now either the US attacks iran (and in the process, earns the ire of the world), or the US gives up their economic supremacy.... what do you think it will be...?

^^^ bro....this i got from Time magazine Sept 25,2006 issue:

the article discussed the two orders from USA:

1- "Prepare to deploy" - the order sent through naval communications channel to a submarine, an Aegis class cruiser , two mine sweepers and two mine hunters. Wala nuon ni command the ships out of port...just to be ready to move by Oct 1.

However buzz was created when a second request was issued from CNO ( Chief of Naval Operations)

2 - Blockade two Iranian oil ports on the Persian Gulf

Kani nga orders offer tantalizing clues daw kay there are only a few places in the world where mine sweepers top the list of US Naval requirements. ..and every sailor, petroleum engineer and hedge fund manager knows the name of the most important: The Strait of Hormuz, the 20 mile wide bottleneck in the Persian Gulf through which roughly 40% of the world's oil needs to pass each day...

na hala....this flurry of activities daw increases speculation that conflict with Iran is no longer quite so unthinkable.....
