naa dire ang grabe potential sa kwarta.. but if your being stupid.. this is the best place to commit suicide..

kini nga life/diskarte/(or whatever this strategy is), kinhanlan jud isog ka og dugo..

dire, imo leverage kay ang imo capital.. your capital works for you, even if you dont..

this is why i strongly preach for independent business systems.. dili ganahan mo invest ng big investors sa imo negosyo nga nagsalig sa tao/manager.. they trust the system.. not the people..

mostly sa trading.. sometimes logistics.. sometimes construction project.. usually per transaction ventures ra...

most sa ako business kay nag start thru ani.. nag invest ra ko sa idea sa mga tao nga promising og business plan and concept..

naa man ko mga outstanding offers karon.. pero sadly, dili nako ma transfer.. simply because, the investors trust me.. dili man gud transferable ang trust.. you have to look for it..

in this game.. its all about who you know, and how much you know..

hmmm.. nag writers block man ko oi...

please ask questions pud mo wui.. naa baya jud times mka limot ko sa important details.. and also.. open pud mo sa ako previous threads.. ako man ni gi divide into parts ako gi share gud...

ang pinaka common and pina ka saun pangitaon ani kay kanang sa real estate.. kanang pre-selling... kay ang imo money gi invest or gi buy property, mao man gud gamito sa development.. sometimes open-house man ni ila stile mangita investors... example ani kay ang grand cenia ang crown regency condotels, makita nimo naa namaligya sa malls..

the rest, medu lisod2x pangitaon.. lisod mangita mga tao.. discreet man gud ang investors ani.. sila2x ra magsabot.. so importante jud nga your an insider... dapat daghan ka contacts and daghan ka kaila...

mao ni ang rich man's game.. kay ang nangita investors, mangita sila venture capitalist people nga daghan money, and proven to be a good businessperson... in here the more money, the more you earn.. mao ni ang the rich gets a lot richer.. mao ni naka nindot sa capitalistic economy..

play your cards right and boundless potential awaits you...

another example.. naa ka friend nga naa land, propose magimo rental property.. mo place ka capital, then sa inu sabot, sa earnings per month naa ka paksi until i buy out sa imu kauban imo share or when dili na mag earn ang inu investment..

another word of advice.. ayaw mo pag venture capitalist sa paper assets like mutual funds, trust funds, and stock trading.. gansi mo.. kung gusto mo mag invest paper assets, mas maau pa nga mag solo mo..

ok ra ang venture capitalism kung makaya nimo nga dili manghilabot sa operation sa imu giinvestan.. your money works for you. you dont need to be active on the venture you invested in.. let the other guy have his sweat equity

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(P.S. daghan manginvite sa inu nga mo join UNO as a venture capital or partner sa membership..

Hi! I would assume that you know some venture capitalists in Cebu. Or better yet, do you know of any Cebu based Angel Investors?

How do you setup a meeting with one?

    Thanks!

oh i forgot to ask: supposing you already got to the point where you managed to schedule a meeting with an angel investor*. how do you protect yourself and your idea from getting the cold shoulder - and then being implemented by the angel investor himself as soon as you leave the building?

in short - from getting stolen.

i'll cite an example - an actual example that really happened - although i will not mention actual names.

in mid 2001 an individual talked to a person who represented a certain VC about an idea that he wanted to do. the idea was this: in 2001, when you call someone's mobile phone number - the caller is given one, not-customizable audio feedback that the phone being called is ringing by making the caller hear a soft "ring ring" tone. this is called a "ringback tone".

the proposed idea was to write an application to be deployed to all voice gateway servers handling the calls so that it's possible to customize each subscribers ringback tone. this customization can only be done by the cell phone subscriber - that is - they have to be the ones to customize what anyone will hear when someone calls them - for a little fee.

the VC loved the idea - toyed with the person who proposed the idea a little, until a week later, told that person that it's too big to be deployed - or too technologically difficult to do at that time.

since the person who proposed the idea is just your regular software developer who didn't really know anyone - and since projects like this one requires very tight integration with the voice services of the telcos, not to mention very strong connection with the telco bosses - then his idea died right there.

a little over 1 year later, customizable caller ringback tones were deployed to both smart and globe by a startup 3rd party solutions provider.

@Tsadi.. thank you very much for your post...

be careful anang so called venture capitalists daw kuno.. kay most probably, 5-6 ra na ila gusto.. theres a similarity between 5-6 and venture capitlism.. daghan nag operate microlending but use "venture capitalist" as a title... be careful...

regading anang dili ma cold shoulder...

kulang ra nga product imo i discuss, you should discuss your marketing system.. on how you will sell your product and how you will introduce it to the market.. dapat naa nka definite business plan, and how your organizational layout would look like... kanang venture capitalist, dili nila trabaho mohimo negosyo... they are there to finance it...

    regarding kopya2x sa idea...

kung mag present ka idea. dili interested ang capitalist how it works.. mas interested siya sa question nga "is it sellable?".. sa kanang case nga gikopya, most probably nindut nga idea pero zero ang marketing plan.. you really should tell what to sell and how to sell it...

you dont need to fully disclose the intricacies of your product... mao ni nkasayop sa uban. motoo sila nga maconvince nila ang investor kung mkasabot jud in detail ang investor. this is a wrong notion,,

kung naa ka solid marketing plan, (dili parehas anang UNO2x ha), ganahan ang investor ana.. ngano maglisod2x pa man siya start iya own nga pwede ra man siya mo finance...

whenever negotiating, always appeal to the other guy's self interest.. not yours and your ego nor lofty ideals or causes...

in extreme cases, you should patent your product first, then sell the idea, you get royalties after. so you can sue anybody who copies your idea without permission..

mao ni pinaka dako niya nga sayop... wala siya nangita mkatabang niya, just as i mentioned earlier make it a point to know somebody.. and wala siya idea about patents... ang iya idea is product based.. mao dali ra kaau gi kopya.. if i were him, i would made it systems based. where dili makopya ang business plan or structure... a business is not about a product.. its a system.. mao ni common misconception sa mga tao..

    wrong
him: sir naa ko nindot idea for a new service/product?

    should be:
him: sir, i can provide you with a new service/product that would increase the value of your existing ones...

(you might notice a bit aggressive and forceful pud ang ika duha)
