I will let you guys know of how our system works. My partner is now abroad getting the equipment that i need. right now i guess you have to consider of getting your own wireless equipment, but i suggest dont use the dongle or pcmcia card typ because hinay ang pick up. i will post the ssystem design or pm you guys if you are interested.

This PM we'vew set up our AP on two sites. the one in mandaue side around 34 clients dayon among makit-an, in just 5 minutes after turning it on. But i have to limit the no of users lang , to maintain bandwith and CIR around 128kbps burst rate up to 2Mbps

    question:

why did you guys bother getting a 2mbps for email purposes only ? a litebliz plan is sufficient anyway

Cabantan, ayala, parts of mabolo, mango ave. sikatuna, chavez, . If you have an external antenna on your indoor AP mas mau. the SMART equipment especially the brown client unit that you commonly see on the roofs has been repalced with the canopy look a like unit. We bought the same unit from the same manufacturer and tested this particular equipment. I guess that why some of you guys have problems with your internet connection. Same manufacturer through their asia distributor confirmed that it has received a lot of reported problems, such as hang up, loss of connection, intermittent connections..

I know that cost of the outdoor AP are expensive. The LINKSYS unit that was exihibited at COMDAPP Cebu had a price tag of 22T, but if you guys are adventureous why not convert your existing indoor AP na lang. My aim of this project is to share knowledge and techniques that we can do it better.

If hopefully we can set up the second AP on the south side by the middle of the month. Just Scan the airwares ....... who knows you might get access if not from me, or from your friendly neighborhood access point
