well i loved macross zero. i just dont know if its set as "in continuity" to the 1st gen series. Gotta love fokker.

id have to agree with you on that
but suprisingly a similar thing was featured in startrek voyager where the doc won the hearts of arogant aliens thru his singing hehe...

i dont think uyab gyud sila ni rick...mura man to sila mu ra...
its was rick and lisa gyud that ended up together

macross zero is actually a prequel (just 5 episodes) to the 1st generation...i think 2002 man ni siya ni gawas...
sunodsunod sila sa starwars hehe.
the setting is about a year before the 1st gen.
they even feature F14's and Migs diri...
but many of the scenes are already CG trying to look like traditionall...in a way nice pud

Yes it has been stated as a prequel. But they never mentioned if it was "in continuity" with the 1st gen series. For all we know, It might be in an "alternate reality- prequel" of some sorts. Japanese just love these alternate stories. I blame the "Schroedinger's Cat Theory" for that.

that's just gen 1, most likely the prologue of everything. rick and minmei pops up every now and then.

spoilers for those who didn't know. rick ended up with lisa hayes and got lost during the SDF-7 expedition (well, Dr Lang never did solve the fold system) If I remembered correctly, this happened during the early part of the sentinels which, btw, is concurrent from mid-robotech masters(gen2) til new gen(gen3) cyclones, beta-alpha fighter, hint* hint*

I've only watched gen 1 on TV and decided to acquire the novels 1 by 1. mygawd! too thick for my teeny brain back then. I can't say the show is accurate. still lots of discrepancies due to unavoidable circumstances if based on the novel that is. that's why spinoffs have been provided.
