That's why mas daghan na ang virus, worms, ect. than sa-una. mas complicated ang mga programs na virus karon mao kinahanglan ug update pirmi imong anti virus.
For enterprise and corporate workstations, effective kaayo ni bro. in fact most workstations here in our universities and business establishment uses these things.
So mas maayo gyapon naay anti virus than nothing. dba? =)

mo hinay gyod ang computer kay while u r working, ang antivirus nag work man pod, checking if naa ba virus sa imong gipang run nga programs or opened files. nagkadaghan ang list of virus nga needed to be checked mao nga needed pod to upgrade computer hardware aron maka-daog sa antivirus. sukad pa sauna mga panahon, mcafee gyod ug norton, mao nga salig ko sa duha. dugay na sila sa antivirus nga business. so far, both are very good.

but of course, like human taking vitamins, basta dili mag-matngon masakit gihapon. computer nga naay virus scanner, bisan unsa nalay i-download, aw, ma virus-san gyod.

about sa main topic? i don't think so. nihinay na tingali ang computer kay naa na virus nakasulod, or maybe mga spyware.

dugay sad kong nisalig anang duha ka bulay-og oi, until i tried NOD32. very light on ur system, and it doesn't get infected itself with viruses! truly d best!!!

hasta 64MB nga system memory, mora lag walay NOD32 nga naka-install.

the best AV that ive used so far are NOD32 and Norton 2k5. never had a problem ever. pero mas performance wise ang NOD32.

Note: Mas maayo nga ato na lang ibutang ang actual mem usage sa atong mga systems sa mga AVs nga gipanggamit (Win environment of course). Reviews from websites and mags can be sometimes be "biased" but in actuality duol duol ra man ang virus detection rates sa mga free og commercial AVs. Ang difference ra nga dako kay naa ra gyud sa mem usage.

the topic is about AMD and McAfee incompatibility. not about which is the best antivirus software so my ans to the topic is "It's not true."

You can search the net for facts. I doubt if you can find lots of articles about McAfee and AMD incompatibilities. PM me if you can even find one. You can, however, find AMD benchmarks on machines with McAfee Antivirus. here's one with AMD ending up as a winner. http://reviews.zdnet.co.uk/hardware/...9197754,00.htm

I'm using AMD machine with McAfee antivirus at home. Intel machine with McAfee antivirus in the office. I don't have any problems with AMD and McAfee. I can talk about experiences with Norton and other antivirus software but that'll be another topic.

I think this is an OS vs Antivirus issue and not a CPU vs Antivirus. @ampdeck: tell your officemate to update the OS of their machines.

One last thing. if you search the net, you'll find branded AMD machine's being sold with bundled McAfee antivirus software.
