Do you believe that there is nothing greater than God?
and yes, God is perfect...
Isaiah 45:7
I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.

Because God is perfect, it is against his very nature to do something that is illogical. God is merciful, and can forgive the gravest of sins. However, because God is a logical being, all sins must be met with punishment.
That God is both logical and merciful, the question is how can this two qualities of God be reconciled?
Because God loves us, he opted to receive our punishment, which is eternal death, instead. God sent Christ to die on the cross to receive humanity's punishment. God loves us that much. God, Christ, and the Holy Spirit are one.
However, because of free will, man must still choose whether to receive this grace or not. Those who opt to receive this gift would have everlasting life; those who do not would have everlasting death.
Death, by this definition, is not just a mere absence of life. Death is the state of being completely disconnected from God.

how can we be completely disconnected from God?
again here's my point: if i ask you where is evil? inside or outside of God? if you say outside, then that wud be saying that there is something greater than God containing God and whatever is outside of Him.
i just can't reconcile God's character with the extent of horror of such an endless punishment if only to warn people...Originally Posted by rcruman
