muay thai ug eskrima...
I like the "Water element reaction" from Ninjutsu (Bujinkan) a lot, when i move out in that defensive position (called Ichimonji no Kamae in Japanese), then i can very easy defend against "low kicks", high kicks, strikes and grappling....
In this position (stance) its assumed some body is trying to attack you either by "sucker punch" or other, where you get attacked "off guard" and then because Ninjutsu is build around our "instinct" and "normal body movement", then it teaches the student to "react" if he get "sucker punched" by going into this position and from there he can defend him self effectively.....The way this is learned is by using this position and the "mental side" and "breathing", that goes with it, in many different situations during training.......(so many the student learns how to improvise, but that a other issue).
From this position i am also able to use my Metsubishi (blinding powder) or it can be combined with FMA...

Hey Cardwell164,
Thanks for training last Saturday and i am happy you liked it...
Just wait and see what i got for next Saturday then....he he....I think you would like that even more, you have not seen that much yet and it is a comprehensive style....
PS. I have also given some more thoughts on how to make you able to join tournaments with Ninjutsu (and FMA), but we can always talk about it in our own forum (or next Saturday).

ako kanang martial arts nga nagtudlo ug gun katas mao nana cya..
hehe
Sorry i had to get my wife to translate....
I dont think you can say gun is a "martial arts", but some martial arts like Ninjutsu and some FMA teach the gun to the student and defence against it...
But unless you are a walking around with a gun all the time, which is against the law what good is a gun to you then in a "self defence" situation?
This is only a few downsides by using gun or if you are walking around with one, since you also will attract danger more......

anything you carry or pick can be use as self defense...
hahaha of couse no one will teach real weapon to thier students.. take kendo as an example they're not using real sword you know..
hmmmmm hey are you really a martial artist?... hehe ask lang hap kay naa ko gikalibgan gamay... if you dont mind...
Yes, you are right you can find weapons in the surroundings as a replacement of the weapons you use during training...
Well, some do use real weapons (like real knifes and bolo), but most of the times yes for safety in training we dont use real weapons.....
He He...If i am a "real Martial artist", that depends on what you think a real martial artist is does it not?
My students think i am and my teachers/Grandmasters think i am....I been within Martial Arts for 14 years and been within arts like Okinawan Shuri Ryu Karate, Thai/KFC-Kick-Boxing, Sports Ju-Jutsu, Bujinkan (Ninjutsu), Balintawak and i hold a Master 1 degree Black Belt within The Dacayana System......

You are very welcome there.....
