    Most Protestants, in their own PERSONAL capacity, would ASSUME that Mary would have sexual relations with Joseph and therefore would have their own offsprings. Catholics and other ancient churches on the other hand, would hold fast to the tradition that Jesus never had any blood siblings with Mary and he is the only son of Mary. However, it is also probable that Jesus have half - siblings through Joseph since he was already an old man when he married Mary.

    (And did you also bother asking why God planned to marry Mary to an old man? Answers could be interesting... )

    Let us also take note that Hebrew and Aramaic does not have a proper term for "cousin". Semantics in the bible is also challenging since we have to interpret it according to the customs of the time and not through literal interpretation.

    """Because neither Hebrew nor Aramaic (the language spoken by Christ and his disciples) had a special word meaning "cousin," speakers of those languages could use either the word for "brother" or a circumlocution, such as "the son of my uncle." But circumlocutions are clumsy, so the Jews often used "brother." ""

    pwedi rman na mabali imong gi ingon bro.
    How about we change your line and say Most Catholics, in their own PERSONAL capacity, would ASSUME that Mary had no sexual relations with Joseph since wla man jud mapamatud-e pod nga naa or wla.

    Meaning to say pareha ra nag assume2 ani whether RC, Protestant, or una pa na diha.

    Ug nganung iapil man jud ang protestants ani?

Nkapangutana man lage ko ani?

    I'm looking for a proof of whether naaba gyuy igsoon or wla si Jesus.
    Don't care if nag jer2 ba si mary or si joseph. Most probably they did. But we can't be sure coz wla ta didto and wla pod na gisulti sa bible.

    To answer your question:
    (And did you also bother asking why God planned to marry Mary to an old man? Answers could be interesting... )
    - So you mean to say nga gipili ra ni God si Joseph kay he's not capable of having *** with Mary? I don't think so.

    @raissah:

    I specifically mention Protestants and Catholics because these are the two groups who would bother discussing topics like this. Muslims, would not even venture into this topic because lahi pud ilang gi tuohan. Their theology doesn't even extend to discussing Mary in the Islamic faith. Believe me, Protestants would normally start such topic primarily to discredit Catholic beliefs. For me, wa na'y problema as long as you can defend your side. I will present my facts as well.

    Going back to the topic:

    Protestants and Catholics interpret this situation differently. Like what i said in my previous post:

    Protestants, interpret through their own PERSONAL CAPACITY;
    Catholics and other ancient churches interpret through TRADITION and accounts by historians.

    These are the women present during the Crucifixion as described by the apostles. They may as well give us the clue:

    According to Mark:
    Mary, the mother of Jesus
    Mary Magdalene
    Salome
    Mary the mother of James and Joseph (or Joses)

    According to John:
    Mary, the mother of Jesus
    Mary Magdalene
    Mary's sister
    Mary the wife of Clopas

    Now is it probable that James and Joseph's (said to be Jesus' blood brothers) mother be Mary of Clopas, and not the mother of Jesus?

    Yes it is. "It’s probable that James the younger is the son of Mary and Clopas. The second-century historian Hegesippus explains that Clopas was the brother of Joseph, the foster-father of Jesus. James would thus be Joseph’s nephew and a cousin of Jesus, who was Joseph’s putative son."

    If Jesus indeed have brothers and sisters, why did he entrusted his mother to the apostle John upon his death?

    (It is hard to imagine why Jesus would have disregarded family ties and made this provision for his mother if she has four other sons.)

    apostle james is not Jesus Brother in flesh. Apostle James is son of Zebedee. read this text Matthew 4:18-22.

    There are many same names in the Bible but some indicates differences of them or as different person. like James who wrote the Letter of James.

    Letter of James writer is not the Apostle but brother of Jesus. Read Chapter 1 of James. you will see that he is not the Apostle.

    Kani nga issue is very important coz mo link ni of the very foundation of true Christianity. All religions (catholics, jehovah witness, mormon, islam, etc) who claims/acknowledge the Lord Jesus Christ aside from christianity are trying their best to discredit the divinity of Jesus.

    Bisan sayon kayo sabton ang mga verses supporting these issue, pero i-twist ug i-deny jud ang kamatuoran! That's the difference between a true and false teachings.
