Brown Rice ... My dad is diabetic and he's eating Brown Rice. According to Dr. Atkins (he's an author of a book that my dad's reading about health and stuff), Brown Rice is recommended for diabetics. Although I'm not diabetic (and hopefully not in the near future), I'm eating it as well. Prevention is better than cure as they say.
Eating brown rice alone is not really pleasing to the mouth. What my dad does is that for every cup of brown rice (uncooked), he adds a handful of sticky rice (or as we call it "pilit"). For those eating plain brown rice, why not give it a try? (Just suggesting here ^_^)
