me I keep on upgrading, luckily naman may bumibili sa mga luma kong pc parts esp. Intel processor and the mobo.
as for AMD, AMD is excellent in games, no doubt kasi supported halos lahat ng CPU x86 instructions(3Dnow!, SSE, SSE2, MMX, MMX+ on Athlons).
there is no such thing as "stability and compatibility"... any platform can be stable and compatible with the right combination of hardware components... AMD is excellent in games not because of those x86 instructions but because of its stronger Floating Point Unit... and the reason why AMD is faster than an Intel processor on a Mhz to Mhz level is because it has a shallower pipeline, bigger and better primary cache, and a better memory system among other things...
