@Ramini: It kinda makes sense, some of the SS top lieutenants were former police officers. Even Himmler himself was a police officer.

Also, during that time the a variant of the SS was also assigned to keep an eye on germany's on citizens. This was to be the basis for intelligence gathering. It is rumored that some SS officers were absorbed into the US in exchange for their technical expertise on intel gathering, along with some scientists(operation paperclip).

Some founding members of NATO(North Atlantic Treaty Organization) were also rumored(?) to be former SS officers.

Just imagine the elite status of being a high ranking SS officer.
