and i'd like to highlight this statement : "workload? nah! gudlak! stressful, very stressful."

I was with xl sales and i could say that no matter how good you are and how hardworking you may be, it all boils down to luck and patience.

I did voluntary (unpaid) OT for at least an hour or 2 everyday just to keep up with the quota and unfortunately, it was still to no avail. Major challenges being encountered by sales reps are authors backing out at the last minute, overpromising authors and dealing with bad blogs.

If given a choice, I would have never resigned from XL. Contrary to what others are saying here, the environment is quite fun, (i.e. spiffs like a PHP500 gift check per $1,000 sale, or free LAYs chips for every sale below $500 or a chance to cash out on appliances even). In addition, team outings are really a hoot and a half, as supes tend to go overboard since they have a lot of moolah. Unfortunately for me, I was too soft hearted with the authors and too affected with the daily pressure of achieving the quota. So I quit before the stress took its toll on me.

My tips for upcoming sales reps, train yourself to be a top seller, practice good rebuttals and win 'arguments'. If you really are THAT smooth in sales talk and calloused with pressure, then you can be the next tier1 top earner, in as early as 3months. Rest assured, they really do give out spiffs and commissions. I personally saw one of my tier1 teammates with a clean 80k paycheck on the 30th, and this was just reaching that ridiculously high quota and not going overboard.

So goodluck to the would be sales peeps!

someday ma tier 1 pud ko but tier 2 sa ang goal hehe.
dagko naman ug income ang mga tier 2 but if ganahan jud ug conistent 80k and above income, dapat naa jud sa tier 1.

apply 5 dungan para naa juy manawag nimo or mo offer dayon.

pero if di gani ka pabalikon dayon on that day to pirma, dako chance hanap na. common practice mana maski asa ka nga company.
kay most likely tawgan raka if naay mo back-out as filler for the slots or kuwang ila quota for applicants.

nipass ko sa jobstreet ani bah para copy ed na position, gi-emailan ko na mocontact lang sila nako after 3 days, pero ang akong nadawat is email ra na close na ilang application kay naana silay mga nahire...
