    source: CATHOLIC ENCYCLOPEDIA: Magi

The names of the Magi are as uncertain as is their number. Among the Latins, from the seventh century, we find slight variants of the names, Gaspar, Melchior, and Balthasar; the Martyrology mentions St. Gaspar, on the first, St. Melchior, on the sixth, and St. Balthasar, on the eleventh of January (Acta SS., I, 8, 323, 664). TheSyrians have Larvandad, Hormisdas, Gushnasaph, etc.; the Armenians, Kagba, Badadilma, etc. (Cf. Acta Sanctorum, May, I, 1780). Passing over the purely legendary notion that they represented the three families which are descended from Noah, it appears they all came from "the east" (Matthew 2:1, 2, 9). East of Palestine, only ancient Media, Persia, Assyria, and Babylonia had a <!--3ref=u44=xxyyyk.htm">Magian priesthood at the time of the birth of Christ. From some such part of the Parthian Empire the Magi came. They probably crossed the Syrian Desert, lying between the Euphrates and Syria, reached either Haleb (Aleppo) or Tudmor (Palmyra), and journeyed on to Damascus and southward, by what is now the great Mecca route (darb elhaj, "the pilgrim's way"), keeping the Sea of Galilee and the Jordan to their west till they crossed the ford near Jericho. We have no tradition of the precise land meant by "the east". It is Babylon, according to St. Maximus (Homil. xviii in Epiphan.); and Theodotus of Ancyra (Homil. de Nativitate, I, x); Persia, according to Clement of Alexandria (Stromata I.15) and St. Cyril of Alexandria (In Is., xlix, 12); Aribia, according to St. Justin (Cont. Tryphon., lxxvii), Tertullian (Adv. Jud., ix), and St. Epiphanius (Expos. fidei, viii).

"ELOI, ELOI, LAMA SABACHTHANI? which is, being interpreted, My God, My God, why hast thou forsaken me?" (Mark 15:34).

ELI, ELI, LAMA SABACHTHANI? that is to say, My God, My God, why hast thou forsaken me'? (Matthew 27:46).

or in this case the majority here sa pinas to refrain from having too much childbirth, to many mouths to feed than the resource, too much to many to handle in terms of schooling them resulting to delinquencies which the mother to most criminals.

para nako if they preach and advice strongly to the people not to have too many kids nga kaya pakan-on or paeskwelaon....and still the population is rising and daghan mga bata tawn sa kalsada....then I guess
I will say they failed to to do and time for other measures.

Meaning just to save face in the sense of morality lets just throw away something that could actually work and address the problem, and let our society go from bad to worst basta lang "moral" tah?

naa pa gyud ni HIV or mga STDs
    Ani lang bro..
Kasabot baya ko sa situation ana, nga lisud jud.

Ang Catholic Church worldwide, ni-condem man jud ug ing-ana nga mga bills. There's no way the Church will say "yes".

However, kusgan man gud ang simbahan diri sa Philippines.
Unlike sa America, even if the Church in US says "no", however, their gov't is more powerful. Mao nang walay mahimo ang Church.

If dili pa ing-ana ka-kusgan ang Church diri sa Philippines, then dugay na na-pasa nga Law. But still, if mapasa na nga Law, dili gihapon mo-recommend ang Church ana nga bill.

Sa ako lang ha, i think education jud ang main problem.
Though RH bill is a good plan, but without proper education, ma-misunderstood ra gihapon na.

By the way, these are the same issue with abortion, capital punishment, euthanasia, legal prostitution, divorce, etc.. where the Law of the State and Church is divided.

mao na giingon theyre choosing that road which also include total celibacy
and are they being realistic with regard to that attainment?
then its always easy or convenient for them to quip "we are also humans and susceptible to flaws and sins"
are they aware of that in the first place and still chose to go there?

this is precisely why the church now is riddled with cover-ups, putting it more bluntly---LIES just to protect
their names rather than the truth!

have you heard of spiritual or religious vanity?

This thread is all about people ASKING questions about catholic doctrines, its either your a catholic that will defend you religion/doctrines or one of the people who have some questions about Catholic Doctrines.

Why mention about the Motives? Some people here are Just asking questions, right? Unless they say that Catholic doctrines are wrong.
Why just answer the questions being asked?

This thread is all about Answering questions on Catholic doctrines, Not questions on someones FAITH.
