    bro, its your duty to pay your taxes and its a wrong statement that its a "disadvantage". Its like you do business, then pay your taxes. You have a point there in large scale projects that an architect should not be the contractor as well. But ani ra man na bro, as what i told you daghan pud nangontrata halos dili man gani in line to construction industry na mga professionals (kana if kabaw ka), Ikaw na Architect, ikaw sweto sa imu design, why not if given a chance na ikaw sad mubuhat. In this way craftsmanship and beauty of the building kay ma achieve jud....Again it boils down jud through experience and track records and finished projects. Sa pagkakarun bro, di paka ka-feel kaayo anang urge to build on what you design kay bagohay pa pud ka na architect....soon you will realize that its good to experience what u draw is what you see in actual.

    The Court of Appeals has decided in favor of Civil Engineers in its legal battle with the Architects regarding our rights under RA 544 otherwise know as the Civil Engineering Law. Below is a quote of the dis-positive portion of the Court of Appeals decision dated 05 January 2012.

    "WHEREFORE, in view of all the foregoing, the appeal is
    ... hereby GRANTED. The appealed Decision, dated January 29,
    2008 is hereby REVERSED and SET ASIDE and a new one
    entered as follows:

    a) Sections 302.3 and 4 of the Revised Implementing Rules
    and Regulations of the National Building Code are hereby
    declared null and void for being contrary to Republic Act 544 and
    PD 1096 insofar as they prevent civil engineers from exercising
    their right to prepare, sign and seal plans and designs of buildings
    such as Vicinity Map / Location Plan, Site Development Plan,
    Perspective, Floor Plans, Elevations, Sections, Reflected Ceiling
    Plans and the like;

    b) Civil engineers are hereby declared to have the right to

    Nice thread.. i agree that everyone should know the importance of hiring an architect. Sometimes, people think architects just do simple instant drawings and they want projects done right away.. they don't know the entire process of getting those drawings done..

    Don't be confuse guys. If you're planning to build your dream house, let the architect design your house rather than a civil engineer. Architects are perfectly capable in interpreting ideas while integrating them into space planning, creating a functional and well organized interior spaces without sacrificing the aesthetics of the exterior.

    Actually you can tell the difference by just looking at the exterior facade of the house whether it was designed by a C.E. or by an Architect.

    Nindot ni nga thread. Archi man akong gisugdan og skwela (inspired by my amahan nga CivilEng), sa dihang gi-discourage ko sa akong uncle nga gamay ra iyang kita. Mao tong shift ko og Fine Arts Advertising Major. Wa ra man sad ko nagmahay, kay akong kauban nga architect sa company before, parehas ra man mi og rate, mas lisod pa iyang giagian pagskwela kaysa akoa. Pero nindot unta ang archi kung palambuay jud ni nga career sa Pinas.
