I'm not saying that this is automatic--my request could indeed be turned down. However, my act of suggesting it has nothing to do with being selfish--it's my job to point out threads of concern, and frankly I'm concerned at the way this thread is going (circular, self-serving arguments that lead nowhere). And since I'm an atheist, the validity of my way of life can be questioned by the uninitiated if they read stuff here that's not really the product of truth, but the product of circular arguments with no end.

You can lie to yourself rods but not to us. We don't think the same way as you do. And it's only your opinion not everyone's. I can't believe you're using your position as a Moderator to hide your true intentions. Lot's of threads here that have nothing sensible in it's context but why not suggest them to be closed as well? It's clear that your intention is an act of selfishness. Is this thread threatens your position as an atheist? If not then why not stick to the topic to avoid more OTs and we'll get along well. But if yes, then it seems like the theists here are getting into your nerves and that's a motive why you wanted this thread to be closed.

That statement may be true, but admittedly it still doesn't give me the right to close the thread just because of THAT reason. The reasons I stated earlier are valid, and my concerns are genuine. Like I said, there's a good chance my suggestion to close this thread will be turned down, but by making the suggestion (along with my reasons for suggesting it) I have done my job as moderator. And every now and then I do recommend several nonsensical posts here to be closed down--you just don't hear or read about it because the conversations occur in PMs.

I know you don't have the right but your influence is great. But my main concern here is that you are a moderator, then be fair with your judgement. You are letting your emotions clouding your judgement. It's your arguments with yanong were going in circles and it all depend with your responses to one another. You have the choice to stop responding since you've noticed that your arguments were getting nowhere, but you're letting your pride rule over that's why you can't help yourself but keep on coming. So don't drag us down with the negativity of your emotions.

@treize, I don't even have any arguments with rodsky recently. He was just quoting my reply to another poster. And my point in that post was atheists should be consistent in responding an argument (not use double standard at all the times).

In my last conversation with rodsky in this thread, I made it very clear that his atheistic stand has nothing to do with my respect to him as a person. Ambot nganong iya mang gi-personal kining tibuok nga thread.

If the subject of the thread was about rape, and a rape victim suddenly requests management to close down the thread, what would be your stand then?

My opinion is: unless the main subject of the thread is about the story of the rape victim who complained to the management, the request is totally irrational.

Talking about rape in general has nothing to do with her particular rape case. There is no logical reason why she should request the management to close the thread.

This thread is not about the life of an atheist named rodsky, is it?

Point taken. Which is why the thread is still up, and has not been closed.

Mao lagi unta, bay. Pero unsaon grabe man pag pamomba sa pipila ka mga atheists (nga gipangulohan ni florida.blanca) didto sa pikas thread. I sincerely believe that theists and atheists can live together harmoniously. Basta wala la'y hilabtanay sa tagsa2x ka pagtoo.

OT: Why suggest closing this thread and that came from a mod who profess he is an atheist, isn't that unfair? I really find this thread very educational, the exchange of information is within the bounce of intellectual discussion.
