Actually the experiment that @vipvip68 mentioned just proves that until now, IT IS IMPOSSIBLE to create life from inorganic chemical alone through random process, WITHOUT the aid of ANY intelligence.

Then you just proved that if both sides are committing fallacies, then a debate that aims to arrive at a conclusion is impossible. I therefore suggest (and will campaign) that threads of this nature be closed and NOT ALLOWED in iStorya.net because its SOLE purpose is for entertainment (i.e. passing the time in the office pag bored mo) and there is no real knowledge being gained here (murag lang, pero in actuality, both sides are not getting anywhere near the truth), because both sides end up committing logical fallacies, as admitted by yanong_banikanhon.

Just because you don't like the people posting in this thread and what they're posting in then you wanted it to be closed? Here you go again with your selfish reasons.. What do you think is the sole purpose of istorya.net?

Another thing siguro that the posters here are ganing are merely "pogi points" (i.e. the thought of "siguro mas daghang chicks mo bilib sa akoa diri kay abtik ko motubag sa mga debate, so more chances that I can snag a date!" is attractive to some of the guys who post aggressively in this thread), and nothing else that could be considered really useful in the propagation and search for truth.

Based on an existing bacterium just means they followed some traits of the bacteria in its chromosome but the new cell they produced was derived entirely from inorganic chemicals.

It proved that it is possible for organic life to originate from inorganic materials.

Ikaw man ang wala makasabot sa nature anang maong experiment, bay. The experiment DID NOT produce a new cell from inorganic chemicals. It used an EXISTING bacterium. Ang ila lang gialisdan, ang genetic code (ang software sa cell, kun si Venter pa pasultihon).

Matud ni Craig Venter anang maong video: "It is pretty stunning when you just replaced the DNA software in the cell and the cell instantly starts reading that new software..."

Gets nimo? New 'software', bay. DILI new cell. Kanang cell nga akong gi-underline, mao na ang cell sa bacterium. Dili na gikan sa inorganic chemical sama sa imong pagsabot.

It's not an issue of liking--it's an issue of what message the posts are trying to express towards the readers, esp. the uninitiated young readers out there. We as moderators have a responsibility to monitor this, and if the other mods deem it to be inappropriate in the interest of iStorya.net, naturally it should be closed. I'm not saying that this is automatic--my request could indeed be turned down. However, my act of suggesting it has nothing to do with being selfish--it's my job to point out threads of concern, and frankly I'm concerned at the way this thread is going (circular, self-serving arguments that lead nowhere). And since I'm an atheist, the validity of my way of life can be questioned by the uninitiated if they read stuff here that's not really the product of truth, but the product of circular arguments with no end.

Gi-close naman ang thread ni florida.blanca. I was going to suggest that getting closed as well, but seeing that it indeed got closed down, then it's all ok. Again, don't worry, my suggest was only a suggestion and could be turned down.
