Failon's counsel counter police claims

MANILA, Philippines - One of the lawyers for Ted Failon today belied the claim of the Quezon City police that the news anchor told members of his household not to speak to investigators about the shooting of his wife Trinidad.
"That is not true. The written statements obtained by the police from the respondents show that there was no such directive from Ted," lawyer Alfred Molo, one of the legal counsels of Failon, said in a text message.
Failon, Mario Teodoro Etong in real life, and five members of his household are now facing charges of obstruction of justice over the shooting of Trinidad Etong, 45, the broadcaster's wife.
Molo also denied that the Failon household members have been uncooperative during the probe.
"Remember they were picked up for questioning. During that time the police obtained written statements from them in response to the questions of the police," he said.
The six respondents are set to appear before a preliminary investigation at the Quezon City Prosecutors' Office on Tuesday.

KRISTINE Hermosa was known as high and mighty in the early days of her showbiz career when she was, wika nga, considered one of the most popular among her contemporaries.

But she appears to have changed a lot.

This was never more obvious than when ‘isinalang’ siya sa Tough 10 ng The Buzz with host Boy Abunda.

Hindi lang magaganda ang mga naging sagot ni Kristine, kung hindi pleasant din siya all throughout the programa.

Halatang nag-mature rin siya in look, pero we agree with Boy when he said na isa pa rin si Kristine sa pinakamagandang mukha sa showbiz.

Kaya, tama rin siya nang sagutin ang tanong ni Boy kung sino ang tatlong pinakamagandang mukha sa showbiz para sa kanya at pinangalanan niya sina Dawn Zulueta at Lucy Torres. Ang pangatlo raw? Siya.

Ayon pa sa aktres, magandang isipin na she and former husband Diether Ocampo have learned a lot from each other. This is one of the reasons why she has become a better person.

That Oyo Boy Sotto is now the most important, not to say, influential, person in her life is a given.

Sana, Dina Bonnevie will learn to “face the music” na one day soon, she will have Kristine for a daughter-in-law.

But Kristine’s answer which literally took the cake had something to do tungkol sa kanyang nararamdaman sa kanyang career.

Aniya, she has entrusted everything to God, including her career. Alam daw niyang the Lord knows what’s best for her.

True enough, Kristine’s new horror series, Maruja, a TV take-off ng movie ni Susan Roces, will start airing on ABS-CBN soon.

She is also due to start work on a movie with Carmen Soo and former boyfriend and ka-loveteam, Jericho Rosales.

FEELING totoong sundalo na ngayon sina Jake Cuenca at Gerald Anderson dahil sa parangal na ibinigay sa kanila ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) kamakailan.

Binigyan ng plaque of appreciation ng AFP sina Jake and Gerald for their “excellent” portrayal of soldiers in Tayong Dalawa and promoting AFP’s good image in the hit series.

Kasama rin siyempre sa parangal ang serye mismo pati na rin ang female lead na si Kim Chiu.

Reports also have it na tumaas by 300 percent ang PMA (Philippine Military Academy) recruitments dahil sa patuloy na pagbibigay ng upliftment at promotion ng Tayong Dalawa sa nasabing akademya.

Samantala, bukod sa nasabing parangal, hindi pa rin natitinag ang serye sa mataas na ratings na natatanggap nito nationwide.

Patindi na rin nang patindi ang kuwento nito’t ang latest twist na ipinakikitang mangyayari ay kambal pala sina Dave (Jake) at JR (Gerald).

kudos to scriptwriters and directors of tayong dalawa. i love the story and twists na gahinatabo ron. kudos to its leading stars also. i love lola gets and agot isidro's acting. its purely plain and natural acting. they both have the best acting talents and to the rest of the casts of tayong dalawa, keeep up the good work! great acting also to jake cuenca and gerald and kim. they really keep the show alive.
