It would be fun to watch how they would be able to go around Article VII Section 4 of the 1987 Philippine Constitution which states:

Section 4. The President and the Vice-President shall be elected by direct vote of the people for a term of six years which shall begin at noon on the thirtieth day of June next following the day of the election and shall end at noon of the same date, six years thereafter. The President shall not be eligible for any re-election. No person who has succeeded as President and has served as such for more than four years shall be qualified for election to the same office at any time.

Since this is another term I think he can run.

But no way will I ever vote for him. Convicted plunderer. Why should we trust him a second time around? He will only feel justified and he will do the same thing. You can't teach an old dog tricks, right? I also wonder why he tops the surveys. Maybe he's paying for some surveys?

yes sir..pero wala man relation ang 1st sentence and second sentence. Wala ma'y logical relationship na gi-specify between the two statements..

@wakkanakka: sir, mao bitaw, the another term he is seeking can only be achieved if he will run again..thus, violating again the constitution..


also, about sa "not successive terms", the constitution states "shall not be eligible for any re-election". There is a word "any".. It did not just say "shall not be eligible for re-election". The word "any" was purposely placed there by the constitional delegates to prevent any "palusot" interpretation in the future (meaning now)..I guess they still have underestimated the future TRAPOs..hehehe..

I think he cannot run for president kay one of the requirements is a "Certificate of Good Moral Character" and because he was convicted of a crime, wa na cya'y good morals.

Di na pud diay ni cya pwede mu enroll sa school no?
