Why mourn a useless politician?

my answer to your question why mourn to a useless politician? i mourn and majority of the people around the world who knew what happened during those years of dictatorship and people power and had seen ninoy stand up against a dictator, who died and left a strong-willed woman who answered the call to be the president of the Philippines... i mourn because we lost a woman with integrity, generosity to give all she had in her life and to serve the filipino people even if she is an ordinary citizen of the country... i mourn because she is an epitome of a woman who despite of everything had happened, she stand up for the challenge and brought our country where it suppose to be and enjoy freedom and democracy...

i mourn because we lost a role model who never stopped praying, and despite how she was criticized she still do goodness to Philippines as a nation helping the NGOs with their projects such as the Microfinance, among others.

Lastly, I mourn because she was just a former president, she is a woman, a mother, a daughter, and a citizen of this country who had made a big contribution to the country and had been and will always be part of our history...

To TS: why she is a useless politician? can you not call those congressmen, senators, and other politicians useless too when all they want are power, money and greed that's why they are in the position? useless because she was underqualified as you said, and no achievements during her regime? have you searched and studied her presidency and know the facts? you should have supported your statements with facts and not just mere opinions before even considering her as a useless politician...

btw, how can she be a stupid president when she was chosen by the Filipino people and not volunteered herself to be the president...

I have to disagree about Cory being stupid. If it wasn't for her, you wouldn't be experiencing democracy up to this day which I enjoy a lot. Especially I can mock the government anytime with no excuses.

But I agree with why should I mourn a useless politician. I mean, man, she already did her part. I think there's no point anymore of mourning her. I already payed tribute to her when she was alive. If we keep on mourning her, will she be resurrected? does it do any benefit to us? would the Global Financial crisis end? I don't think so.

She died of cancer, many people does. It doesn't make her any special casualty on earth.

I think this thread is more of a discussion of mourning people LOL.

i like this topic honestly... But people tend to be very emotional.. maybe it's because Tita Cory recently just passed away.

Imagine Philippines without Cory?!?! Imagine Philippines still under Imelda Marcos (since Ferdinan Marcos died.) I wonder how our economy will be?! I wonder how many shoes Imelda will have up to today if she is in power? I wonder how may trillion of dollars Philippines will owe to the world bank? I wonder how many people will be murdered every day because they are againts martial law.
