d jud ko mutuo aning muingon tag ok ra generic kai d man jd na full-load and psu, mga average ra daw 200watts... hayz in electronics naa tay giingon na inrush-current, naa pud tay gitawag na surge/spike/dip ug uban pa anomalies bisan unsa pa ka limpyo na imo AC-line. even if 200watts ra imo estimate na consumptions sa pc, it doesnt always mean its 200watts continuosly, it spikes or sags every now and then tooo fast to be measured by a simple multitester.

example lang. i;ve setup a cafe about 8yrs ago. was using P4 3.0 Prescotts and Ati 9600 Pro, rest are basics like hdd and used a generic 500watts PSU. according to PSU Calculator give or take the pcs will consume about 200-220watts full load... but sadly my generic 500watts psu died less than a month of use. buto diretso ang primary fuse along with the bridge rectrifier. bisan unsa na generic giilis mubuto jud. so we decided to replace it with HEC SilentOP 375watts. take note, its just rated 375watts but eversince i've never had any powersupply-related problems until nag close down na ang shop after 5yrs of operation.

bottom note : unreliable lang jud ni mga generics. ok ra unta if computers were using some sort of analog voltages or simple rectrifier voltages like most household appliance but they are not. there are a lot of switching here and there and its a complex system. so complex that even a .5 increase or decrease in voltage will mean stability or disaster sa entire system, of course this will be the worst case scenario...

i know most generic psu are used in internet cafe and such aron gamay ra overhead and mas dali ang ROI. but im sure if u were to setup your own PC you will have a priority look at buying a brand-named PSU, even if its the cheapest one...

It's not just SilveStone brad, other branded PSU's naa pod ani nga capabilities to protect the PC. It happen lang siguro nga FU ang nag post & share this info from Tom's Hardware.

not all times nga if mag gamit ug generic PSU ang una maguba ang PSU. most of the time ang una maguba ang components like HDD (most common), VC, and motherboard. common factor maguba dayon ang HDD kay dili stable ang gihatag nga power sa PSU. same situation sa videocard ug motherboard. usually ang ma pasanginlan ang brand sa component nga bati ug quality kay sige ug kaguba, not knowing that the silent culprit is the PSU.

agree jud ko ani kay nakabantay pud ko same specs ang cpu but different PSU mostly ang generic psu mao ang una magob-an ug pc parts jud.

IMO, i really can't say that generic PSU's (or at least the ones we are using here) aren't reliable coz diri sa workplace, it has been... dili ko ka pugos sa ako kaugalingon ug sulti nga dali ra maguba ang generic PSU or mu-cause siya ug ka-guba sa laing components sa PC kay based sa amoa experience diri, ala man gyud... swerte ra gyud siguro mi.. management here just can'tafford to shell out extra dough for branded psu's... sa ako analysis sa situation namo diri, i came up with this reason (murag lahi ila point of view)... Gihuna-huna siguro nila ug upgrade ug mga units after 5-6 years from the time that they bought these PC's... having this in mind, basta mulahutay siya ug 5 years then ok na, bawi na ang investment (di ba paspas man kaayo ang upgrade sa technology karun) then time for another upgrade.. based na pud sa mga past experiences nila, they opted to buy package PC's with, you've guessed it, generic PSU's kay they weren't planning to run these units for more than 5-6 years ra man kay i-upgrade na man pud... so mao ni nahitabo sa amoa karun... honestly, nakatipid gyud hinuon ang company kay pila gud kabuok ang computers namo diri... ambot lang kaha amoa servers, but i do believe that generic psu ra gihapon ila gamit though dili gyud ko sure... AGAIN, i'm not saying that generic PSU's are at par with branded one's coz they really are not... i'm just sharing my experience... sakto si werty, kung personal na gani nimo nga PC, lahi na gyud...

Somehow I would definitely agree on this point of view...

Anyway, you can never go wrong in choosing True-Rated PSUs. And for those who opt for these such...Go for price, performance and quality... don't go for names.
