SK "do we realy need it?"

Just want to know your opinion guys regarding SK. Do we realy need to have an SK? There are lot of talks naman gud about this position na sulti sila they are training the young people on how to be currupt that early by letting them join SK. Is the position realy effective in barangay levels? Do you think maka save ta if this position will be remove? (sweldo and ilang own funds for SK projects kuno). What do you think about it guys.

We need SK for our youth to have a say in the community & government but I highly suggest that the age requirement be increased.

The SK is useless sa ato community. They are being taught how to do corruption at an early age. Pls abolish SK now.

There are always two sides to a coin. IMO, the problem is the SK officers are too young. Secondly, they were not trained properly, not given a lasting program and in most cases ignored by the senior politicians.

If the youth will not be given a voice in government, where will they go? Gangs? Frats? Drugs? Nightlife?

Those programs also rely on the government. There are also countless stories of corruption in the education and sports department, even small school-based athletic organizations or leagues. So my point is, regardless what organization or structure, the problem does not lie on it but on the personalties involved and how the organization is handled. All they need is streamlining or a revamp and a solid platform and programs.

if you try to see whats on Section 423 creation & election of SK has to offer. nindot jud kaayo the way the law protects & give importance of our youth. only then that some of the guidelines are not being followed. kay mao lagi because of corruption.

to give you an idea of the powers & functions of SK para ma appreciate ninyo unsa ka importante ang SK...

Promulgate resolutions necessary to carry out the objectives of the youth in the barangay, in accordance with applicable provisions of the Code; Initiate programs designed to enhance the social, political, economic, cultural, and intellectual, moral, spiritual and physical development of the members; Hold fund raising activities, the proceeds of which shall be tax exempt and shall accrue to the Sangguniang Kabataan general fund; Create such bodies or committees necessary to effectively carry out its programs and activities; Submit annual end-of-term reports to the Sangguniang Barangay on their projects and activities; Consult and coordinate with all youth organizations in the barangay for policy formulation and program implementation; Coordinate with the Presidential Council for Youths (PCYA) and other National Government Agencies (NGA) concerned for the implementation of youth development projects and programs at the national level; and Exercise such other powers and perform such other duties and functions as the Sangguniang Barangay may determine or delegate or as may be prescribed by law or ordinance.

our problem now is who will monitor all these??

IMHO, we don't really need SK, coz in our barangay level we can appoint from our barangay council to head committee for Youth sector.

Me?? Sa amo city very much needed kaayo ang mga SK kay they are the people whom we can call unto whenevr youth like us needs to be heard.. They are the instrument nga mka duol me sa mga taas ug posesyon sa gobyerno sama sa Mayor ug Bise mayor namu ug sa mga konsehal sa among siyudad.. Many projects have been passed diri sa among siyudad because of these said SK officials..

I dont know with the other cities, kun nagamit ba nila ang mga SK nila, apan sa among siyudad gamit kaayo...
