Men are programmed by nature to automatically or eventually philander with other women...
It is in the deep instincts of men to fulfill that urge, it is what makes them MEN...
Although, Yes, for a lady being involved with a certain man that has been unfaithful it can be very devastating.. I know it should not be an excuse that "hei, this is how it is! I am a Man". No it should not be like that, coz as much as it is Nature's work, Men have brains and should be able to think and make his own choices.

So In Conclusion, I think Philandering Men are those who opted to disregard their intellectual being and chose to give in to their Unintellectual Animalistic Urges.
Sorry should not do the trick for those kind of men! Not even Suicide! They had the choice to do and don't, it's not like they were forced to erect and have s3x with another girl.
So I think as much as unfaithful men are SORRY and REGRETFUL.. I think that is not enough!
but of course, As Humans, We make mistakes and it's up to the others involved if they should be given a chance or not...
