You can find very good web designers/developers at oDesk taking as low as $15-$20 per hour and they can develop fully functional websites in just about 10hrs.

    thanks mga bro...

lulz, daghan btaw sa odesk. Daghan pd mangingilad. Daogon rajd na sa pag build ug trust sa mga cliente, brad. Dli mani hinambogay. Ug imo gibasa ang original post, ang point unta ani na thread is to provide the novice cebuano freelancer a reference on how much ang sakto na rate for different types of clients.

I don't have to prove anything to you. This, again, just sheds light on the fact that you were simply too lazy to read the whole thread. Or maybe you did and you just didn't get the point. I don't know.

Point is, I don't appreciate this little (did I mention, inappropriate?) crab mentality that you have going on here. If you can't/are not/have no idea where to begin on how to do this. It doesn't mean others can't.

And just because others can, it doesn't mean they have to answer to you.

tldr; This thread was supposed to help beginners. If you can't provide any helpful information, f'ck off.

He was trying to be sarcastic.
The going rate in the Philippines is much much lower.
    The US rate is 20-40/hour.

This discussion is quickly becoming just a debate on whether I am good for my word or not and it does not look like it is going to be changing anytime soon. Hence, it has lost all usefulness and my interest.

Also, @krissy. Given the context of the thread, I hope you won't find it too offensive if I just ignored your request. I have nothing against you, since the manner in which you asked was more than acceptable. I would've gladly PM'ed you any portfolio sites had people stuck to the discussion, but then again, what's the point? I'm not trying to impress anyone here. I was hoping to help. Something that people seem not to be interested in.

well come down from your high horse and lets see your work? as designers here we are all under the mantra seeing is believing and if you take things personally here i highly doubt that you are as you say helping others here. i mean cmon, clients complain and they get what they want. if people pay you 60$ an hour and take anything you give them haha id really like you to share your client base :P

    1. I'm not charging 60 for design alone. In fact, I'm a lousy designer. I'm probably 80/20 on the developer/designer scale.
    2. This thread is not about showing of skills.
    3. Again, I don't have to prove anything to you or anyone else. I can but it won't make a difference. People will believe what they want. And they will hang on to that belief and bring you down until they feel they've made amends with their ego.
    4. I already gave examples. Too lazy to look them up? Really don't care.

Everyone missed the point of this thread. This was supposed to be a guide for the newbie programmer. Instead, people keep saying that this thread is crap because they feel that I'm getting too much of a good deal.

Classic crab mentality. Don't want any of that. And if you want us to progress, you shouldn't want any of that, either.

Also, high horse? Just cause I posted my rate I've placed myself on a high horse? Hahaiz.
