This goes back to what I said about being suspicious of "self-serving" statements.. Please tell me how you know who hired the people who allegedly contacted the witnesses? Attorneys routinely utilize their own investigators to look into their cases, including making contact with witnesses. How did they know the identity of the wits and where they were staying? Earlier reports by the police claimed that the wits were housed in a "protected" environment. If so, how were they contacted? (no details provided by police). What did the people say/do that would constitute harassment? (again, no details provided by police). Lots of blah, blah, blah. Unattributed statements have little value because they can't be readily checked for accuracy or authenticity.

On another point, this new set of witnesses were mysteriously absent during the arrest and charging of the first set of suspects. Doesn't that make you a even a little suspicious of the credibility of the current police investigation?

There are only two witnesses that I currently believe. I am more inclined to believe the triskad driver. And, fyi, bai you don't need to be a witness to know that previously sayop ang ila gidakop. Even I could walk into the police station and say that no Filipina and foreigner bearing the description would be stupid enough to walk through customs knowing that people are looking for that description. Tan-awa na ang current suspect nila ron? Diba buwag ang Briton ug ang pinay?

I had 20 years of real experience in this field, and I know what I am talking about. If you think that you know more about criminal investigation than me, then continue believing everything you read in the newspaper and base your opinion on that. As for the police, thay are fortunate that more credible police agencies aren't reviewing their substandard investigation of this murder.

It's strange that so many of the people posting comments here are placing so much faith in the contradictory statements being made by the assortment of witnesses that keep mysteriously popping up in this investigation.. Forget about the witnesses for a minute and ask to know the status of the DNA and forensic evidence. It's been weeks since the police seized what they think is blood evidence from the car and house. Where are the results? If the dna evidence clears these people, do you still want them to be prosecuted because of what a trisikad driver says? You have that much faith in these witnesses? To asians, most foreigners look alike. Conversely, most foreigners think asians look alike. Why was Berger arrested and why did the D.A.'s office file charges without a hint of physical evidence to connect Berger and his fiance to the crime? The answer: Bad witness identification. Think about it.

As for the witnesses being provided protection, Gov. Garcia made the offer to provide protective services to the witnesses more than a month ago. She said that she was waiting for the police to make a formal request before arranging security for the wits... Well, if the police are concerned about "harassment", then why didn't they request the security services offered by the Governor? Hmmmm?

Harassment has nothing to do with the case. This cannot be the reason to solidifies guilt of the accused. Even the other camp are reportedly experienced the same treatment.
