Not all abusive partners end up in prison. Many women who are in abusive relationships keep quiet about it. Divorce is a viable option for these people.
so mas importante ang inyong away kaysa sa anak?

^ You're viewing this in the wrong perspective. The child's welfare always comes first, and besides, not all couples have kids. Most couples choose to make it work. Good for them. How about those who have reached their limits? Mao naay term nga "irreconcilable differences" di ba? Kung di na gyud mo magkasinabot, kung wala na gyud inyong feelings for each other, kung sige na lang gyud mog bugno, inyo pa gyud pugson nga kamo lang gihapon? Dili na logical inyo relationship.

    @ GINGERGARLIC ...

Yes wala and bawal ang DIVORCE sa PHILIPPINES because it violates one of the 7 SACRAMENTS which is MARRIAGE .

Although naay ANNULMENT , that only clears you and the obligations of legalities sa courts but still dili ka makasal sa SIMBAHAN gihapon but not that easy lang . Naa man term hinuon ang church ana makasal ka ug balik nila for certain reason lang after annulment .

By the way , dont talk about PAGANISM in the Philippines and relate it to Roman Catholicism . It is wrong and not relevant at all , much more to start about your diolatry and etc , you dont know what you are talking about . Pag open na lang ug another topic about that aron ma clear ang confusions nimo .

This country is not the same as the US or any other nation where divorce is legal. Some children may not suffer but most of them does.

On the other hand, those who are greatly abused, well there is always prison,

the family is the basic unit of the society, it is where each is molded to become a better citizen
For me, a child with separated parents suffered the same as child in a turbulent relationship. i think mas worst pa gani ang latter, for the child to be exposed sa mga away, dili pagkasinabtanay, etc.

para sa ako, maayo ang divorce as long as dili siya maabused. daghan kaayo battered wife na dili kadali dali ug lingkawas because, 1st walay divorce, 2nd ang legal separation is a long process and very expensive, 3rd stigma sa society for separated wife and so on.

for me, nothings to big that love can't handle. It's a part of being a catholic that you have to love your spouse for the rest of your life. I might be that idealistic but i believe that i am not alone.

(Bride/Groom), take you (Groom/Bride), to be my (wife/husband), to have and to hold from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish; from this day forward until death do us part.
