Here's a close call of mine that just happened last Saturday.

So it was 3AM already in Estancia, Mandaue and I can't go home anymore with a jeep or a tricycle because at those times, there are no public transportation that pass on that area to Mandaue Market. So I looked for a taxi, then there, I found one. Sa layo pa lang, vacant ang basa sa indicator sa taxi. But when it got closer, it switched to occupied. Akong gi-sige ug para and I can't tell if naa ba gyud siyay pasahero or wala because his headlights was on high beam. The taxi overshot mga 8 meters from where I was then nihunong siya. Nisakay ko but before I came in, I noticed na naay babaye sa atubangan. Akong gi-ingnan ang taxi driver na "aw, naa diay kay kauban. di lang ko" but the taxi driver said "sige lang unahan raman ni siya". But since it was very late already and I wanted to go home na, I rode with them nalang. I was really alert that time and paid attention to everything that may happen to me. Pag-abot diha sa may Coliseum, he dropped his companion. I got pretty nervous about it so I just asked the driver to drop me in Jollibee diha sa may Mandaue City hall and walked my way home kay duol raman sa amo. I had a feeling that if the taxi driver was planning to rob me, he would rob me in somewhere dark. Fortunately, the road among gi-agian kay hayag. Gipabayad pa gyud ko sa taxi driver ug 55 pesos

Duda nako carton girl to iyang kuyog. Kay sexy kaayo pero bulingon kaayog nawng. Pero that was really something that I would never do again. I can still fairly remember the taxi plate number though.

Risky to imo gibuhat bro! Anyway, dili ra na sa cebu kay ngari sad sa manila, dugay na nga modus ni sa mga hold upper con axi driver!
Best way, sakay sa mga Taxi sa known companies .. easy to trace ug ma hold up ka. Ayaw anang mga white color lang .. style nako, usa ko mosakay (which is always at the back seat, ako abrihan ang front door ug ingnan nako ang driver sa ako paingnan .. just to make sure nga walay lain nga pasahero nga nagtago ... lastly, I make calls pagka sakay sa taxi .. ingnan nako nga anaa na ko sa taxi ug mao ni iya number ... just in case!

Also ... how can someone not see a person hiding in the front seat? Seriously? Invisible dwarf?

The seat may have been pushed backwards to accommodate a crouching tiger hidden dragon. And when people are in a hurry, they're not really that mentally alert; all they think about is going from point A to point B.

But I do get flextime's point. Proof in the form of news from a reliable source (sunstar, daily news etc.) would be helpful.

The modus is susceptible..... I just don't really get why the victim doesn't want to share the name and the plate.... did you ask why TS?

But I do get flextime's point. Proof in the form of news from a reliable source (sunstar, daily news etc.) would be helpful.

You'd have to be comatose not to notice another person in the front seat. It's easier to imagine a scenario where a person riding in the front seat failed to notice someone hiding in the back seat.

But the reverse is ridiculous.

And yet we have to see any shred of evidence.

Warning the public is good. Causing unnecessary panic and alarm is not.

to be fair sad sa TS, i think it is hard for the TS to have evidence because it only happened to a friend of a friend(Unless sa iyaha nahitabo).. sa ngit2 nga lugar bai, lisod jud mahibaw-an nga naay tao sa atobangan (wa pay labot if nag-glasses/antyohos).Usually mocompyansa man jud ta basta Vacant ang sign & nihunong ang driver labi nag lampas na nimo mohunong. AKo, Laki man ko & i usually sa atobangan ko molingkod. kay para makabantay ko sa taxi driver. then ako storyahan (dala panakop storya about tulis, etc). Bisan kulang pa ang evidence, much better to be cautious nalng...if naa pay news article about this mas maayo.

I think ang intention sa TS is not to create panic but to remind us to be vigilant...which i dont think there is something wrong with it.. reklamo man gani ang uban sa pikas thread about walay sukli nga sinsilyo ang taxi driver, mas maayo pani kay safety ang concern sa TS...naa ra nato if mopanic ta.

A friend of a friend told me that there is a group of suicide bombers going around Cebu on weekends. In malls, churches and public areas.

Now it doesn't matter if what I posted is true or not. Because I just want to remind everyone to be vigilant. I'm not trying to create panic.

It pays to be vigilant about security when taking a taxi and the mindset that we are safe nowadays should be taken off since often think that PUJs are the only not safe. Bisag wala pay sulod ang taxi kung hold-apon sad ka sa driver, wa japon kay mahimo.

the TS is just reminding people to be cautious to taxi cabs...... It can happen.

belittling him/her is uncalled for.

Even the boodle boodle gang.... even the pick pocket folks has their own strategies and technics....
