And not to mention mu gasto pa just to reinstate it....repairs, modifications, additional measures.
not the mention P40 million pesos for yearly maintenance unya how guaranteed is it adto na gasto tanan sa maintenance and dili ma shot sa baba sa buaya? hahah

I don't know pero basin naanay technical evaluation ani if feasible and economical ba e convert into coal fired power plant... kay steam turbine man gihapon ni ang mga nuclear power plants. If in case gani, butangan nalang ug boiler then e reroute ang iyang cooling system.

Coal Fired Power Plant?
Did you consider the health and environmental impact not to mention how it affects breathable air within its surroundings?

@mokiloo: I am not in favor of coal fired power plants also.

There are more cleaner types of power plants, such as gas turbine. But the design of nuclear power plants are steam driven turbine. Then it is less efficient, very impractical and expensive to use natural gas to fire up the boilers intended for power generation... compared to using coal.

4 things ul need to maintain a nuclear power plant:
#1 industrial capacity (unsaun ang safety? how can u train the average person to deal with radioactivity? etc)
#2 uranium ores...aha man tawn ta mangahoy ana nga wa man tay ing ana diri sa pinas?
#3 nuclear engineers..ang pangutana, naa tay ing ana nga kurso diri sa pinas ana?
#4 items 1 to 3 kelangan e.import ky puros ta wa anang 3..nya aha man mangahoy ug salapi ang government ana? gi.ipit naman gani nila ang Banco Filipino ky di kabayad ang Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas sa ilang P25 bilyon na utang sa Banco Filipino (kingkoy) ambot lang murag ang governor diri cebu ky ngpropose pud ug nuclear power plant. Good luck! Blessing in disguise sad ang natabo sa Japan because I don't think we have protocols to protect ourselves from those kind of calamities. Hi-tech naman gani ang Japan, nglisod pman gani clag contain sa radioactive meltdown nla ngadto. I dunno what our government and private sector will do if that happened to us
