Why hire an architect?

yup..agree ko ani boss, but we are in the Philippines, and architect here is a state regulated profession, must be a licensed architect to practice the profession, para naay manubag in kaso naay mahitabo sa mga projects. then if there are people here that consider themselves as good designers bisag way formal education as architect, then why not take the board and pass it, mayng laki na gud, im sure di sila maglisud sa exam, galing lang, requirement man pagtake sa board ang graduate ug architecture. let's just do it in a fair and legal way.

Sakto ka. but passing the exam doesn't mean your good and qualified bcoz i know a lot of architects here they are known but they are not good. even though they are in the business for more than 15 years still they don't learn from their previous mistakes if they know they are wrong. unfortunately they get the Big projects you as young get the smaller fish. Just my sentiments. better you start a thread for the worst projects in the philippines just dont mention the designer....

at this present time hinoon, lisod na ni..labi na sa pinas..swerte na si Tadao Ando bai kay dugay na kayo sya nagsugod & for sure naghire na sya og architects para sa mga standards (labi na karon)...

@ TS: bai, question lang ni ako.. about anang mga house like kato ganing mga tinyhouses sa US like Tumbleweed Tiny House Company. Kinahanglan ba gihapon na sya og License bai (if sa pinas)? sa US kay DIY raman gud na..TIA

you have your point bro, maybe its your taste that made you tell that some are not good. if we are to look the design of their buildings, some of them may not look good in our sight, but their clients do, maybe there are reasons why they made it that way like budget constraints, site constraints, environmental constraints, law constraints and many other factors that affects the designs of the building. If they are not good, or let's say their client is not satisfied then they won't have projects. If your not satisfied about that architect, you can always choose the one that fits your needs, there are almost 27.000 architects and barely a quarter of it are practicing ones here in our country. i just want to encourage everyone who wishes to build a house or any structure to consult a licensed architect first

it's already a fact that the one who had a lot of experience gains the bigger projects and the young one only get small project or not at all. Experience matters a lot in this profession. Im sure you won't entrust your money to inexperienced one especially when it involve millions.

Sorry, as an architect, we can't do the posting of worst projects in our country, its not our job to destroy other architects, their identity might be unknown but they can't hide their names on their projects. perhaps you, the clients, can start these thread and mention also the problem encountered with that project.

you mean building permit bro? with that kind of house, if itukod jud na,,kinahanglan jud na ug permit. anything that needs to be build in the philippine soil should have a permit, bisag bahay kubo pa na basta more than 15k ang cost pagtukod. ang exempted lang sa pagkuha ug permit kay public buildings and traditional indigenous family dwelling unit constructed of native materials and total cost not to exceed P15,000. ang naka-apan lang kay dili strikto ang gobyerno diri.

better have it criticized than let them continue their sorry works... that's why we dont have to put their names. if anyone knows the designer about a certain project, just keep it to your self...
