Setting Up LAN between 8 or more Computers

I just want to share my setup . . .

Before I used Linksys 4 port wired router. . .
>>> PLDT 384 plan (zyxel p-600 series) -> wired router -> [2 PC + 2 Laptop] all wired connection = [0.2 - 0.6 Mbps] (speedtest.net)

Then sale the Linksys 4 port wired router - acquired Linksys SD 208 8port 10/100 switch
>>> PLDT 384 plan (zyxel p-600 series) -> 8 port switch -> [3 PC + 2 Laptop] all wired connection = [0.2 - 0.6 Mbps] (speedtest.net)

>>> DHCP - IP Address (172.16.1.xx on 5 computers)

Running for 1yr plus . . .

If naa ka'y ADSL2+ router, pde ra d ka moagi ug modem. So imong set-up would be ISP -> ADSL2+ Router -> Switch -> PC's.

Since daghan man kaayo na imong PC's, mas prefer nga imong i-manually configure ang network sa imong computers para dli sila mag-ilog ug IP.

Prices are not as low as the ordinary routers but it's very very stable.
And if you have more than 10 Users I would really suggest getting this router, even just the Cisco RV042 model.

Good PM guys, i need help in setting up LAN between 8 or more computers using a switch. i know a bit about networking (router/modem), but wala pa ko ka try ug switch. sa ako lang nahibaw.an,
Set up ip address on each computer
Create Homegroup
Use straight cables between switch and pc
but if you can go into details with examples, the better
and also, unsa inyo ma recommend nga switch? kanang d sad kaau mahal, pang gaming/internet ra btaw

sa brand bro. avoid lang gyud anang mga generic. ako ka recomend is linksys or dlink lang tingali.

hehehe lig-on na bro basta katong Ireland made pero katong China with collaboration with Huwaei dali ra kaayo mo hagtos... ako gamit cisco catalyst 2960 lite na less than 20K ang price competitive na kaayo

i don't know asa to made but 24 FE ports with 2 GigE ports... managed switch sya. limot ko unsa model, tua sa kaban, hasul kaau ukayon, he he he
