i think Willie shouldn't be blamed about the kid's talent, it's the parents. and besides, there was nothing wrong with it... is it a big deal? mga tao talaga, mas mabuti pa bigyan nyu ng pansin ang mas malaking problema ng bansa - CORRUPTION, POVERTY, KABI KABILANG PAGTAAS NG BILIHIN, PROSTITUTION or *** SLAVERY at kung ano ano pa ha Dinky Soliman at MTRCB? .... wala tayong asenso if bawat isa satin nag hahanap ng mali sa kapwa tao. i dont praise the guy (Willie) but i dont hate him either.

gamay ra man tu sya na issue even ang parents wala man gani namaki, padak-on lang jud arun ignun mga politician ga lihok. my gawd, Willie's show is not a big problem sa society, dami natin probs sa bansa why would they focus on this issue... if gusto jud mo ug action people from DSWD - ipick up ng mga street kids tagae ug future, tagae ug panahon ug attention, i pick up ng mga minor de edad nag prostitution sa kadalanan. i know kita mana sila ba especially sa Manila perti na ka daghan why dili sila mo lihok? its because dili sila makita sa TV, gusto lng sila magpa starring ba....

BRIEFER ON “WILING WILLIE” REGARDING COMPLAINTS OF CHILD ABUSE
The Board received numerous complaints about the 12 March 2011 episode of “Willing Willie” aired over Kapatid Network TV5 where a six-year old boy contestant was shown to be gyrating and impersonating the body movements of a macho dancer.
In accordance with the Board’s duty to enforce the Constitutional mandate that the State shall defend the rights of children from all forms of neglect, abuse, cruelty, exploitation, and other conditions prejudicial to their development, the Board has referred the matter to the Hearing and Adjudication Committee for appropriate disposition.
The Board further emphasizes that whenever children are featured in television programs, producers are mandated to observe legal standards stipulated in R.A. 7610 to avoid “psychological abuse xxx cruelty, sexual abuse and emotional maltreatment” and “any act by deeds and words which debases, degrades or demeans the intrinsic worth and dignity of the child.”

wtf.. everyone is making it a big deal and blaming willie for it?? bullshit!! his parents teach him to do that and not willie, the former teaches the child because thats what the parents wanted the child to showcase as his talent during the show...its not like he was forced to dance like that by willie. he cried because of bonel balingit not because of the dance i guess.

saw the video. clearly an act of child abuse.

would you let your son or daughter to be ridiculed on public for the sake of money?

it really was bad judgement on tv5 to let that happen on air.

Yes, the parents/family deserve some of the blame for not being thoughtful enough of what their son would possibly experience if he performs on TV with the dance moves they taught him. You might say, “the kid had his family’s blessing, and if anything they wanted him to do what was necessary to earn some money.” But still, any person in their right mind could see that Jan-jan’s naivety was exploited, he did not know what his dance really meant. That is enough to negate the surprise on Willie’s part. Once he had done his performance, the best thing that Willie could’ve done was to put a stop to it and give the kid (and his family) the money they wanted. They go to the show for no other reason, even at the risk of embarrassing themselves, for the money. Willie is smart enough to know that. But instead of feeling for them he has to have some fun with the kid before he gives him the money. If you saw the video, Willie had to make Jan-jan dance two more times! Willie could’ve saved the kid and the parents from the wrong decision they made, but instead Willie imposed his bullying self for some entertainment. That is wrong, and that is where this outburst stemmed from. I will leave it to you to reflect on that.

If you guys didn't find anything wrong with it, it's fine. We all have different perspectives. But don't hate on the people who found it disturbing either. I won't wish Jan-jan's predicament on anyone else's kid.

And about "this is so petty, there are dozens of more important matters to attend to..." just because this has been brought to light does not mean the rest of the world (or the Philippines) has stopped revolving and doing its job. Do you think just because certain people have initiated action on this that they aren't giving any attention to the other problem areas anymore? Wa na nag-trabaho ang mga pulis ug ang DSWD kay nanan-aw nalang ug Willing Willie? Are you saying that we should give the same media attention to the child prostitutes and the rugby boys? It just so happened that this case was closer to the heart of some persons who were brave enough to stand up for what they believed in and this passion got the attention of the higher-ups. If you are so concerned about the other problems we have, nothing is stopping you from starting a blog to raise awareness about those said problems. Wa ta kahibaw, ma-TV Patrol sad mo nya ma-hatagan sad ug parehas nga media mileage inyong binuhat. This attention was earned, because someone took action and didn't just lounge around yapping on the internet. Kung sa Batman pa, "It's not who I am underneath but what I do that defines me." LOL

BTW Mr. gatsby, no offense meant, but about the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB)? Mao bitaw gyud na ilang trabaho. Di man ang DSWD ang nagpasikat or nag-lagot2x ani. Kung di na nila buhaton, sawayon sad sila nga wa silay gamit.

i believe DSWD ang nangusog sa issue. u think child exploitation belongs to MTRCB's job?

    kindly read this :

    Willie, TV5 apologize for offensive

The mother of Jan-Jan has spoken.... ""Saka po sa mga ibang channel na... katulad po ng 'Goin' Bulilit.' Bakit po ninyo hindi kinukwestiyon yung mga pinapagawa nyo sa show na yun at saka yung sa anak ko po yung kinukwestiyon nyo ng malaki... Wag nyo po sana masamain yung ginagawa ng anak ko."

one of the comments ng article - Whats d difference between a 6yr old girl dancing ala Sexbomb kembot and a 6yo JanJan dancing a macho dancer style? We have been watching little girls, dancing like a @#$% on live tv but we never care?? Yet ...those acts were permitted and has the full consent of their parents.... Pa artista effect si Dinky Soliman, parusahan nyo rin ung mga BAD JOKES ng GOIN BULILIT at bawasan nyo mga batang lansangan sa Recto, Quiapo etc etc na nagkalat kalat! <----- TAMA! better focus on bigger issue than this....

the kid has a consent from his parents, besides gusto ng bata na yun gagawin nya. and please (DSWD) dont make kids with permit sa DOLE na basis na they can exploit these kids. how about kids mimicking Sexbomb in other shows? but my point here is that we have bigger issues in the society to focus on, if DSWD is really concerned about kids exploitation then they can do better or bigger actions than this one. mas daghan lantaran na child exploitation na nangyayari sa Pinas, why dont they make actions? because theyre not televise? wag tayu mag bulag bulagan as if we dont see them on streets and bars (minors), those are major probs that the government should focus and exert more time and effort.

i don't praise nor hate Willie, it's just that government sometimes doesn't know how to categorize bigger issues to smaller ones - they just don't know their priorities.
