papa erwin don't focus on the H55 mobos, na-a may P67 mobos for the i3 system nowadays. and unsa may hingungdan sa upgrade if the TS will still be sticking on the old P45 mobo's diba useless ang effort ni TS ug money if that's case.

by the way... mga migo.. na-a naba available p67 mobo locally? i was aiming for the asus sabertooth or Asrock Fatal1ty.. or even MSI, Gigabyte and ECS. basin na-a mo tindahan nahibal-an nga nag display na ani nga mga mobos.
is 'upgrading' mean always that you need to jump into the new platform? if the old platform is still reliable and good, there still no need to rush to the new platform. new platform may only give you bugs, better wait for it to stablize. lga775 long replacedby lga1156? i dont think so. there are still many available lga775 mobo is stores you know and it may even outlive the intel h55 lga1156 coz lga775 is still currently used by the new models of pentium dual cores, core2duos and core2quads while the old i3's are not compatible with sandy bridge. i3's may perform better but performance is not the only factor. you also take in consideration the availability of parts incase it breaks down. im not thinking here like an enthusiast but as a businessman.
it wont be useless if its enough for his purpose. ma nuun useless imo proc basta ma phase out ang supported board then wala nakay ika puli like the old i3's na available pa sa market which is not compatible with p67 maayo untag maka huwat ang ts nga mo stabilize ang sandy bridge.
sulayi daw sa PCX bro... sa ilaha pricelist nakabutang didto nga B3 stepping na ilaha H67 and P67 mobos (ECS, Gigabyte ug MSI naa)... Pero I'm not sure kung naa available stocks sa ilaha store... As for Asrock Fatal1ty Mobo, na'y istoryan nga nag-gamit ana karun, ask lang ni bro jay52969... naa siya ana nga mobo pero murag sa TPC niya napalit (not sure)...
ing-ani na lang TS, determine usa imoha needs, then decide kung unsa nga upgrade path imo padungan... between the two upgrade paths you've mentioned, lga1155 provides more features than lga775... but ask yourself if you really need those added feautures based sa imoha needs karun... and, besides, going for the core2quads will be cheaper than buying a new mobo, a new procie, plus rams (assuming you're using ddr2's)... but if, you want to think long term, then go for lga1155, the SB's...
i think that's why lga775 is still around because they're damn cheap (compared to i-series anyway)... you'd get a decent gaming cpu for less than 15K... but once 1st gen i-series prices go down (with the introduction of SB), then you can say bye2x to your 775's... IMO... =)
well kung d lang jd issue ang money--- i-series.. why? efficiency in performance and power consumption..
@TS post your entire system specs and reason for the upgrade. if u got an older 775 processor and ur mobo can support that q8200 then go for it. but if urs is already a decent build, then the next platform would be ur best upgrade path. but remember, an upgraded processor doesn't always gives you significant overall performance gain. there are features like usb3.0, ddr-1333 and above, pcie 2.1a, sata3, etc that helps in overall performance. imo na choice if u need those or not.
ako nakit-an kay asus sabertooth naa sa GI-apm mall.
i3 @ 4.0 GHz will kill that Q8200 ^____^
1156 nalang bro kay stable na kaayo, if mag 1155 ka bag-o2x paman gud na and medyo mahal pa and maybe naa pana mga bugs ang chipset
plan pud ko mag sandy unta pero dili pa makaya sa bulsa jud.
if imo rig karun is ok pa don't upgrade sa just wait til 3rd quarter of the year kay i'm sure naa pa mas better sa mga current SBs and of course ang mga 1st release 2nd gen SB procs. mo lower na ang price![]()
sakto si bro jason4ever ayaw lang dali-dali ug upgrade.
