    base sa discription
    IMPORTANT: The supplied Geforce Drivers 267.52 for Geforce GTX 590 will not stop the card from overheating when overclocking. Please use newer versions from the Nvidia website and stay away from 267.52. Otherwise this may happen ...
    does this mean ni occur siya kay gi overclock ang card?
    or mo occur ghapon ni under normal usage?
    using the same driver 267.52.

    They overclocked it pero this can still happen on normal situations.

    If the card heats up enough it should turn itself off, even if overclocked.

    from the reviews, it looks like the power limiter fails on the driver that came with the card, causing it to go boom! even on stock (but with slightly raised voltages)....

    I don't think it's because the card heated up.

    If you notice where that molten chunk of metal came from, it's somewhere from the 2x6pin. My guess is that its caused by a faulty solder/molex or from the power throttling parts.

    What I find odd on the video is that the PC was restarted/shutdown then once running back up we saw the spark/smoke.

    If it was overheating, the thermal protection should have kicked in and prevented the card from even powering up till the core drops to operational levels, if it was an over volting issue then its a bios issue since the computer just booted.

    Exactly. You can have a cold card and have it blow up by playing around with DC power
