Better if naka apprentice naka interisland (locally) at least naa nakay service record. Gather all your basic documents like diploma,Birth cert. NBI, Police clearance, Passport, Seamans book and whatever Certificates of training seminars you have attended already.
You may visit some shipping agencies here in Cebu, naay daghan kaayo, some of them are posting their requirements outside the office, if none, then go inside their office and ask for it.
If you have friends or relatives who are seaman especially officers na sa ship, ask them to help you introduce sa ilang office, daku kaayo sila ug ikatabang nimo, pero mag start sa ka as OJT (utility) sa office nila, some works 3mos.up to 1 year before maka sakay, depende lang na sa availability kay naa sad daghan na una pa nimo , but its part of your training anyway. Show them that you are worthy. POEA office gives out list of land and sea based manning agencies nga accredited nila, try to check if their agencies name was included at their list kay kon naa assured mo nga dili sila illegal recruiters. sakto sad..pero suggest lang ko if wala mo naka sulod sa mga nagpa exam na company sa UC, try ninyo mga shipping company nga naa sa cebu ang address pra maka minus mo sa gasto before going to manila...naa rmay daghan international shipping company dnhi sa cebu nga branches,
