It's obvious that overpopulation (as a direct result of inadequate family-planning) has created a mass of poverty-stricken children who have an extremely bleak future. By standing in the way of social progress the church is playing it's part in wrecking the country. Each year Philippines gets one step closer to breaking-point, the problem is getting worse and to pretend that overpopulation is not the problem is bizarre when the evidence is on your doorstep.
preach all you want the fact is theres no such thing in reality and a century of shit of a history of this country stands by that statement, people here have been preaching and kept in faith thier religious practices while doing shit on the other hand. The only thing that matters is a government that has the balls to stand up and do what needs to be done even if it means killing a lot of dumbasses that stand in the way. Its how great nations were formed and history shows that.
dumb population = dumb reasoning, including some forum people. shesh

It's not that overpopulation is the problem,it's because it's happening rapidly. The growth of the population should be controlled or in my term "Controlled Growth".And worse the church is against contraceptives.
I believe that for a perfect government there should be a little harmony between religion and the states for example.
Religion brings faith and the States brings control.
RELIGION = morality, faith, principles like not corrupting the peoples money
STATES = military, economy, health and welfare of the people
I know there is no such thing as a PERFECT WORLD cause the government is composed of not perfect people.BTW I've studied a bit of history
And if you want to know why Filipinos are soo dumb just watch GMA and ABS-CBN see how they make Filipinos dumb!
Don't judge a peep by it's avatar

The problem is kulang sa DISIPLINA ang mga pilipino ... that's the root of the problem.
We once distributed contraceptives to couples in Inayawan and pari-an, didto sa squatters area. That was in the 1990s pa, ni volunteer ra ko ato, ang mga kauban nako kay mga nurses and mga NGO, pwerte gyud nila ex-plain about family planning during that time ... daghan mi gipanghatag na condoms.
Pero unsaon ... pag balik namo 3 hours later, tu-a ra amo mga contraceptives amo gipanghatag ... gipaburot lang, gihimog baloon ug giduwaan sa mga bata. ... Pagka nalang gyud.
TS - ok i take that back your not a religous nut.
TS - to your statement that there should be harmony between state and religion, agree ko ana, but in our case in the PH the church has gone awol and does nothing but stand in the way of the gov trying to do its job only keeping in interest its influencial and financial gain from the masses.
and yes the media OMG! the media, they should be outlawed! those freakin *****s.
Overpopulation is NOT the ONLY factor causing poverty; there are multiple factors, such as the ratio of arable land available per person, the country's geography, and the availability of natural resources. Simply focusing on overpopulation when trying to address poverty is quite frankly, stupid.
However, overpopulation is termed as such, because, well, anything OVER can be a very bad thing; "too much of everything is bad enough", so they say. Uncontrolled population growth can quickly strip a country of its arable land, natural resources, the food supply, and ultimately, socioeconomic breakdown. It's really that simple. What we should be doing is, ASIDE from overpopulation, we need to ADDRESS OTHER CONCERNS with equal focus and drive.
Here's another shocking fact for all of the overpopulation panic-mongers: overall, the world's population has grown, but at a significantly lower rate than before. We may even be headed towards a DECREASE in population by 2100. Just look at the birth rates in advanced countries today; Japan is on the cutting edge of birth rate decline. This trend has started in the advanced countries, but they are eventually being
copied over by developing countries like the Philippines. It may take some time to be completely visible to us, but it is getting there.
