Hope this helps. Im currently using a 650VA Powercom Ace nga PSU bought @PC Express. 1.9k. Only lasts 2 minutes or so. Just enough time pra mka shut down ko. Specs are as follows:

    Intel i7 950 (stock speed), Corsair H50
    Asus Sabertooth X58
    AMD Radeon HD 5870
    Kingston HyperX 1600Mhz 3GB
    1 HDD, 1 ODD
    9 120mm fans/1 140mm
    2 Sunbeam RED Cathode lights

This should give u an idea on how long will ur back-up time be with ur current specs.

naka basa ko sauna (forgot the link) na to get the wattage na ma-deliver sa usa ka UPS is by simply applying a PF (power factor)... i.e multiply the VA rating with PF usually industry standard kay 0.6 or 60% then you will get the watts that your UPS can deliver.

    so ang 650VA has a 390watts (650 X 0.6)

so ur saying na ang set up ni dootmars, less than 390W ra ang power/wattage usage

Its possible nga 390w iyang consumption but im not sure if thats wen im gaming or just plain browsing lng. Best to get a UPS with a higher VA rating than mine bai. It should give u a longer backup time. Mine barely gives me enough time for a proper shut-down.

not the setup but dootmars' UPS.

the 60% power factor is conservative, though. we really do not know what the real PF is unless it is specified by the maker. for some server/branded UPSs, the PFs are ~90%.

dootmars' setup, using PSU calc, has a typical 547 watts - that's without the corsair cooler. and 2 mins back-up time is not good..

Ang ako load kay more than 400watts. During power interruption i have less than one minute before ma off ako back-up. Ang naka parat kay mo trip pagud ang on-board voltage regulator during power interruption. As a result manimaho ug sunod ako UPS
