You have to remember that the majority of customers out there are not like us. We are tinkerers. We like to tweak our devices to our heart's content. The rest however don't care about that. They just want a phone that works. As long as the hardware looks nice, an interface that they can understand, and they can pur their favorite apps on it, they're good.

Dili btaw ingon ana ka bati ang symbian gyud pero ang-ang.an man gud kung mag buaht cya ug revision sa ila software. Di man gud mka apas ang symbian nah sa demand sa mga consumers..

The only Plus side is mo price drop gyud ang windows phone 7 since nokia na ila partner.

You've got a point dude, but that's just it. There's nothing to do with it. If you're just looking for a phone that only works, then it's too expensive for consumers like us. For example the HTC HD 7 is worth at least 35,000 in the philippines. Like I said, it's too expensive.

The bottom line here is that "cost cutting" is never always the best policy.
When Apple just planned to come up with a new product that will revolutionized the mobile phone industry, other industry vendors already aware what it can do...the 3rd party product offering was very promising but very expensive...

due to cost cutting and the thought that end users will not buy an expensive phone in those trying times. Hence, the investment is not worth it yet......only Apple took it and still believed that if you have great products and offer the best experience for your customer, they will buy it regardless of the price tag. After all, Apple principle is that, they will always offer/introduce innovative products to what they think the market wants and not what the market demanded from vendors...

I am in the same industry and I have seen both worlds...good ole days and the challenging situations we are in, up to now...problema lang kay we always focus on trying to fight the $$$$price war for many years now and therefore, cutting corners just to compete..putting the wrong people into wrong positions!!!! Thus, by continuing to do so, we are unconsciously burning our own platform!

And beside, other than this "Cost-Cutting", there is what we call corporate politics!!! Of course, "Cost cutting" is to optimize our resources for better efficiency but more often than not, cost-cutting became indiscriminate by the wrong people in positions!! (or maybe I can put it this way: pressuring the right people to cut cost unnecessarily) For example: how can you expect to minimize competence development to almost zero and ironically, kept on demanding highest level of quality customer deliveries??!!!

Worst, they make experienced people redundant and recruting new people into the organization from outside without any hint of the corporate culture....and the sacked experienced people joined these new players in the industry and these new players now fast become serious threats to the established vendors in the industry.

And by the way, ever wonder why you persistently lost your cellphone loads? blame it to the Symbian OS hacked thru the mobile network!!!

Agree that andriod is for people that tinker or at least know their way around mobile phones, iOS and WP7 is good for those who want to get it to work out of the box for call and SMS/email, no changes required.. pretty much iOS and WP7 will cater even to the oldies as Ive noticed a lot of elderly from AT&T using IP4.

Since we were in the discussion about Nokia getting a new OS so the "better compared to what" does not include the current one Nokia has but something like new choice A vs B. But anyway.
