Another thing you need to consider, study about the leadership, if they are for real. Study their principles.

There is no easy money in MLM, if they are offering to good to be true advertisements, stay away.!!!!
You need to work hard in these industry to succeed.
All I can say is... there are 2 sides of a coin. If you see one side, you have to go look for the other side to get a better picture. What I'm saying is that... there are may more valuable things you get when you join an MLM/Networking company - you just got to open your eyes to see it. Most people don't see this, that's why they say its a waste of time. Lorenzoleo is right that MLM is not for everyone.. For those who dream, dream big. Do not worry so much about the "how" think about the "why" more than the "how". If you got the answer for the "why" the "how" will come.
Example: "Why" do you want to be rich? < -- If you answer this. The "How" will not be so hard to answer afterwards.

No, its not fooling people. Only bad MLM companies do that. If you ask which companies are bad - well I could not answer that because I don't know all of them. You can listen to the DSAP (Direct Selling Association of the Philippines) guidelines in choosing the company. Just google it.
