what else can you expect? the overflow of businesses in manila will eventually go to the second largest city, right?

what would amaze me, instead, is if there were astonishing improvements in the educational system. if the BPO industry is indeed as promising as they say it is, then students, as early as highschool should be well equipped with the knowledge and skills that will allow them the opportunity to get these high paying jobs.

I would rather that students get a high-quality WELL ROUNDED education rather than just one that caters to the BPO industry. After all, there are many other industries that can earn so much more than what the average BPO worker earns, the only problem is that we don't have the government support here for such businesses and we don't have the skill/talent supply these businesses need. Students should be free to pursue whatever interests them, the job of the government is simply to give them the best general education to serve as the foundation to whatever dreams/goals they have. Acquiring the skills to be a BPO operator is something that can be done through OJT anyway... a high level well-rounded education will serve you in any industry and any country...

There are more Indians (in number, not a percentage) who have excellent English speaking skills than there are Pinoys. I'm talking about gross numbers not percentage... don't rely on our prejudiced view of what Indians sound like, because we Pinoys can sometimes be so condescending of other people without realizing that these are just based on stereotypes and not reality.

maski naa masive tax breaks pero wala kai infrastructure ug manpower para mo support sa industry mag duha2x ang mga outsourcing companies nga mag set up sa ila business

Both are true, but the company does not have to hire those with bad English. Secondly, as I said before, we've always had good English skills but the companies only started locating here after the government passed laws to provide these companies huge tax breaks. So common sense would dictate that it is the tax breaks that convinced these companies to come here, not our English skills which is taken as a given already. In other words, the tax breaks were the catalysts to their coming here...
