How can a place be a top tourist destination when stepping outside of a secure resort is in itself a risky proposition? Cebu "could" one day become a top tourist destination, but the public sector has much to do before that possibility can be entertained. Private corporations can only do so much and a few fancy hotels isn't reason enough to put a destination on a vacation shortlist.

Hahahaa Few fancy hotels cant make Cebu and Cebu cant claim the beauty of those few fancy hotels/resorts. Cebu has to be a wonder on her own.

Just because we have nice diving spots and great beaches doesn't mean we're at the top. There are A LOT to consider before coming out as "TOP". You seem to put words into my mouth. Of course, I definitely did not mean that. But if you're affected by it then maybe its true... if you have accepted the negative side of Cebu, have you done something contributing to its improvement? Well, base on your posts... my impression is you have done nothing.

Why don't we just keep a head with an open-mind, not one like an empty jar?

    have you gone places TS?

Cebu is a toursit attraction 10 years from now... joke ra

mactan: hotels & casino, club, small beaches
badian-Ginatilan: badian island, kawasan, Osmenia Peak
    moalboal: beach, dive spot
Barili: I haven't Explored yet! hahaha (but nice place)
    CarCar: Cicharon (lol)
Cebu: multiple business park, IT Park, still undeveloped lands (tourist attraction 10-15yrs from now rofl)
    Event: Sinulog
    Favorite Food: Lechon
    Perks: Beautiful Women

there are Some Places I have been to that I did not remember the names of it.

Go to other places if they can have that in just one small place?

So if your ****ed up Caucasian friend is discouraged to see this place to hell we care, they are useless piece of ahole who expects to see skyscrapers and Ocean Park with trained animals and faked tourist distantness like the ones in Singapore? Did they?

If its not the latter then I would really want to know what it is .

Maam/Sir, I'll never have the nerve to start this thread if I have not gone traveling abroad. I have visited other countries though only in East and Southeast Asia, unlike you who have traveled far and wide. Undeniably, those countries are industrialized, much ahead than the Phils. I thought of them as a better benchmark for our country/Cebu's improvement.

I have observed their fast paced, efficient ways and processes. It seems everything is well thought even placements of gates, entrances and exits. I wish Cebu could improve not just tourism but its governance as well. I think firstly its best to implement Six Sigma and 5S in everything in private and public sectors. Sa immigration sa airport pa lang, sapoton na kas kadugay. Ang taxi driver mongontrata pa... papresyo pa kung makakita ug foreigner.

Colon Street is such a historic place being the oldest street in the Phils. If possible it should not be used anymore to preserve it. It will be lined with specialty, souvenir and native food shops where tourists can leisurely walk and enjoy the Cebuano hospitality. It should be free from bad elements most especially. The walk should extend towards the Basilica, to Plaza Independencia and to Fort San Pedro. I envision it to be like Asakusa in Tokyo.

I have many things in mind but Im already sleepy. Till next time.

When somebody asks you about Cebu, just tell them the truth, it wont hurt you.

We have always been struggling as a community, as a nation, and its true we have a lot of things to learn from other countries but why don't you look at the bright side, foreigners are still coming in, and some of them who came in and went back to their countries may not remember the place, but they will always remember the people.

TS, We are all hoping for change, i know you love Cebu, we all do. char!!

As I see it , you didnt start the thread because youve been to places , instead you created this because it is claimed that Cebu is a top destination yet arguably , I may agree that some points are true because maski top 10 or 15 currently dili but to be ASHAMED of ? Ngano gud uroy ma ashame man ka ?

I am just wondering why you would formulate a place based on its indutrial advancements . Is that a reason also that would put the whole MARIANAS ISLANDS into shame ? Mind you there are still islets in the Pacific Rim that doesnt have electricity and relies the brightness of the sky at night time yet boast's to have one of the best coral reefs in the world .

That is a different problem that we need to fix . So nakita na ang problema nimo , partly ... you have " dismaya " sa gobyerno because of the slow developments . My question is , what does it have to do with the natural beauty of Cebu that we need to be ashamed of ? When you climb to OSMENA PEAK nor dip in KAWASAN FALLS , do you really need an airconditioned , wifi ready PORTA TOILETS ?

I share the same snetiments also as a history buff and heritage lover . Parian District , Colon Street and Tres de Abril should have some sort of restorations and preservations .

Poor guy... He just went abroad and now he is starting to compare us with other countries your are not comparing Apple to Apple here so why are you setting them as your benchmark? And besides, what you are complaining about is also present in other countries in other, words - Nabag-uhan ra ka. Its like saying "Nakapunta ka lng ng maynila hindi kana marunong mag bisaya". Poor guy!
