The Galaxy Tab is not a phone but a tablet with phone features, basically your asking if Desire HD or Desire HD is a better choice..

Go grab the Desire HD, just dont compare its screen side by side with a super amoled based phone

I'd go for the HTC Desire HD if your considering a phone and not a tablet with phone features.

I can't imagine slipping the galaxy tab into my pocket. Not unless if I wear baggy pants or hip hop jeans.
You can slip it though if you have an overcoat jacket but usually doesn't apply here bec. of our weather.
Even the DesireHD is kinda big already for my pocket.

And last but not the least, too much eye candy on your ears when you answer a call. Watch out for those cellphone grabbers.

the two items you suggested were really diff. regarding special purposes...... i suggested lang , you buy a non expensive phone if you want really also experience the galaxy tablet. it doest matter ur phone capabilities, they were just the same, you can call and text----satisfied. thats it. i will tell you honestly, masumhan ra pod ka bisag unsa ka high end imng phone. palit na lag galaxy tab ky lain na pod na na genre. lain napod na experience.`

I have no experience with any tablets but I recently bought the Desire HD. All I can say is that, it is really really amazing! I'm loving it so far. Like shamanisita, I only used a phone for call and texting and that's it. However, I noticed that most of my colleagues who use smartphones really get the most out of their smartphones like updated weather, emails, dynamic bus-train schedule app, GPS, remotely controlling their home or work PC via remote desktop control, etc... I was just amazed. So I decided to take the plunge.

It is really really useful if you have access to the internet most of the time. If not, then I think it's really just a paper weight although I may be exaggerating in this respect. Bottom line is, if you have a really good network plan that allows you unlimited internet access, then the HTC Desire HD is really really amazing. Or basin nagbag-ohan ra tingali kung sa ato pa, ignorante. haha
